Affinity Plus Federal Credit Union Reviews

Samuel Lee5I really have had a great experience with this credit union and this branch as well. Today, Nicole went the extra mile for me to optimize my credit union experience. Quite frankly, her patience and effort was the reason that I was able to stay with Affinity and not bring a loan to another credit union. I feel that Affinity is doing things well right now, and I am happy to be their client.
Response from the ownerSamuel Lee, thanks for sharing this review! And thank you for being a member! We appreciate the kind shout to our employee. We'll make sure it gets shared with branch leadership. Have a wonderful day. ^ashley

Lori Sorensen1I had the proper information for my daughter to have opened an account with me as her referral person and the staff there were extremely rude and disrespectful. The inside teller hadn't even asked my daughter if she was of legal age (which she is) and proceeded to make an false assumption regarding her age. Saying she was a minor. The lady had told us we needed more documents which was so unnecessary considering in a different location we were in, we had no problems whatsoever. The manager himself was making the process even more difficult and we felt as if our words weren't being taken into consideration. We both had felt as if we were judged as well. It was almost as if They thought we were criminals and that my daughter couldn't have possibly worked that specific job to have acquired such pay and that we were committing identity theft.. Definitely won't be going here.
Response from the ownerHi Lori, we’re sorry to hear about the experience you and your daughter had. We strive to make sure that people feel cared for, and it sounds like you didn’t feel that during your visit. We’d like to talk with you more about your visit. A branch manager has reached out to you and left a message. When you have a moment, we’d love to chat! Thank you. ^ashley

Lexi1We had a bad experience not only once but twice with Camilla. We asked not to work with her the second time and she still approached us and put us in an uncomfortable position where we couldn’t say no to working with her. When informing other staff that she put us in this position and that she was being rude and had a really unprofessional tone with us, she confronted us and told us she was not being rude and was “doing her job”. She also told me that she was not being rude and “you just see it that way because you are not getting what you wanted”. I don’t think yelling at people and speaking down to them is doing your job. She clearly doesn’t know how to do her job and she has no people skills. Or maybe it was just 2 bad days in her week that me and my fiancé happened to be there? I have no problem with affinity or the other staff we worked with, but Camilla needs to be taught how to work with customers, better communicate, and to not be so rude.
Response from the ownerHi Lexy, we’re so saddened to hear about the experiences you’ve had in our branch. We’re working hard to ensure that you feel comfortable and cared for when you visit. The branch manager has reached out to you and we look forward to creating better experiences for you in the future. ^Ashley

Verna Monson, Ph.D.5My husband and I visited APFCU in New Hope in February to open a superior money market account for him. Camelia was incredibly helpful, professional, and kind. We recently went in to explore options for creating a joint account and a business account, and Camelia again was very helpful. She took time to help my husband brainstorm how to create shared accounts with his adult children, drawing a visual for him, and writing out other information about how to go about creating a trust account. She made us feel like we were the only customers that day, although there were others in the lobby. We want to thank her for her kindness and ability to clarify policies and concepts to help us meet our financial goals. I highly recommend APFCU and have been with them for almost 30 years.
Response from the ownerVerna Monson, Ph.d., thank you for your kind review; we are happy to pass along your comments to the team here at Affinity Plus Federal Credit Union! We think Camelia is pretty great as well and are so happy that she was able to give you such a wonderful experience. Joel

Richard Hodne2Affinity Plus in New Hope is now only open 5 hours on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Customer service consistently takes forever on hold to reach by phone. They won't allow electronic transfers in or out of anything over $3,000. I want to open another large CD but they have become extremely restrictive and difficult to do business with. I'm very sorry that I opened a savings and 3 CD accounts with them already. They make me worry that my retirement money may not be safe with them.
Response from the ownerHi Richard, thank you for sharing your concerns. Your deposits with us are insured, as Affinity Plus is federally insured by the NCUA. It’s similar to how it would be safe at a traditional bank. I’m sorry to hear that you don’t feel like the customer services is convenient or fast. A branch leader will reach out to you for assistance. ^ashley

John5I've been banking with Affinity Plus for 5+ years. Their service is always fantastic when I need to go into the branch, and even when I call in they find a way to help me with services I didn't know they had. Two examples: I went to the UK in 2019 and there currency exchange was so easy to use, and they sent the currency I needed right to my local branch for no fee and at a competitive exchange rate. So helpful that I didn't need to deal with this at the airport. Also, they just refunded an overdraft fee (one-free per year so I didn't even need to use my points) that I incurred with some careless transferring between different accounts. They've also made great strides in the digital banking space to make things easier/more efficient. Can't recommend them enough.
Response from the ownerJohn, thank you for your kind review; we are happy to pass along your comments to the team here at Affinity Plus Federal Credit Union! We look forward to your next visit! Take care! ^Jamie

mandy williams1If I could give this no Star I would I went in to open a checking account and three Savings accounts. Place was extremely busy so my husband and I along with are 7yr old son waited patiently. We got to the counter, Laura asked how she could help, I said I would like to open a checking account as well as some savings accounts. She ROLLED HER EYES AT ME AND SCOFFED! She then proceeded to ask me how I heard of the place, my husband said we have family members and we also were referred as well, she walked away from us went to a lady in the waiting room and started talking to her Laura at the new hope location was very Rude DISRESPECTFUL!!!! I guess I will not be banking HERE
Response from the ownerHi Mandy, thank you for sharing your experience with us. I'm sorry your visit with us went so poorly. This is not the kind of experience we want anyone to have. I've shared your feedback with the branch manager so that we can get better. If there's anything else we can do for you, please let us know. Have a great day. ^Ashley

Mia Whee5Modern set up compared to other branches. It is a smaller branch but less busy compared to some. Before this, I had to drive over 30 minutes to access any branch. Now it is an easy 10-15 minutes on any day. I just wish they were open until 6 PM as traffic can make it hard to get to the branch during the week.
