EM2Polite and helpful local staff. Been with this credit union for 20 years, and it was good for many years. However, in the past few years they (the main office, i.e. those in charge, not the local staff) have changed the credit card service provider and problem after problem has ensued. Sadly, I have loans through this credit union, though as soon as they are paid off, I am changing to a different credit union. I called about a problem accessing my credit card info online a few days ago. It says that my card has been “transferred” and gives the wrong balance. I was told a different balance than the one that shows up in the summary online, but I cannot see the list of transactions. The representative lied about when my supposed new card - which I had NOT asked for - was on its way. When I called, there were 49 people ahead of me, so I used their call back feature. It took them 50 minutes to call me back. After asking if others were as unhappy as I currently am about this supposed credit card upgrade, I was told yes. An email today tells me my new credit card will arrive within 14 days. After it arrives and I activate it, I will supposedly see my transactions online again. I am not holding my breath… Since changing credit card service provider two-three years ago - which itself was a terrible experience with payment complications and other annoying problems - there have been too many bad decisions from the management of Advantis Credit Union. Cannot wait to leave them behind.

Isaac H5I've been using them for 6 years and they have been great. Their checking account offers strong rates and ATM refunds. Online banking has never been an issue for me. I've also used them for car loans, credit cards and when I was looking into buying a house. I feel like I can trust their input when I ask them about different options with my money. It's like they are on my side and not trying to sell me on something or "get me" with hidden fees.

Timothy Adams5We've had a great experience so far. I'm really stunned that anyone would give this CU one or two stars. They've always been professional and friendly. If I could change one thing, signing up for (and using) their online banking could be so much smoother. There are unnecessary steps, blocks, and bottlenecks to the whole experience. And no, it's not "because of security." It's a conceptual problem. Bottom line though, they are great and their rates are great. A+

Rich Osterlund1I HATE the new interactive machines. They are not personal, take to much time. and you can't get 50's or 10's from the machines. That means you have to spend more time and see a person and get your bills exchanged

Craig B2They offer good rates, but their online banking and support is not up to par. I was interested in moving my checking account here, but it turns out I can't easily manage ACH transfers to external accounts online. If I want to cancel a transfer, change the amount, or simply do a one time transfer, I would have to go to the credit union and fill out paper work. Other credit unions in the area allow you to manage all of that through online banking. I also was not able to use all of the features which are suppose to be available online. For example, I wasn't able to access the account management page after logging in. I was given in error message instead. I called support, and they said there were no outages or problems on their end. I told them what I was using for an operating system and web browser, and we ran through some browser preferences to ensure cookie and Javascript management was setup to allow their website to function properly. Nothing worked, and I was never able to access the account management page. The service rep seemed to be out of ideas. She put me on hold and said she was going to call someone else for help. After being on hold for over ten minutes (which was also 30+ minutes since I had called), I hung up. I also received conflicting information from multiple employees regarding whether they do a hard pull or soft pull when verifying credit at account opening. I decided this wasn't going to be a wise decision and closed the account. On paper, they look great with their excellent rates. In practice, they are lacking in the area of customer services. Too bad, I was hoping it would work out.

Jennifer Davenport1Someone tried to buy something in California using my card number. Advantis had to cut off my card. I appreciate the promptness on that, but now I don't have a debit card, and have no way to access my money for food or gas or anything until I can physically go into the branch and withdraw money out. I won't have my debit card for 7-10 business days. It's the weekend and have no way to buy food. Thanks to another credit union screwing me over, I now don't trust my money with ANY bank!!! I am done with banks all together. I will do the bare minimum with banks such as paying bills, but that's it. My trust has been broken.

Virgil Hawkins2I lost a debt card. No problem, just report it and order a new one. Took a week for the card to arrive in the mail. That's fair; it's inconvenient but it's what I was quoted and that's life. I get my card and go to deposit my paycheck only to learn that my PIN had been reset in the process. OK, getting a little ridiculous. I call up a branch to ask for my PIN or to change it to something I know, and they inform me that there is no way other than going into a branch to change a PIN. My choices are now: go across town to change my PIN, or wait for this new one I was assured would be closely following the card in the mail (they were sent separately). It has since been a week that I received my card and I have yet to see any more mail from Advantis. I have no access to any of my money, can't deposit checks, and therefore, don't have enough money to pitch in for rent this month. Writing a check isn't even an option because I never received the checks I ordered several months ago. So, quick tally: Lost card, took a week to get the new one, a week later and I still don't have a PIN to do anything with my money. I feel as if this system is absolutely absurd. The card was already cancelled and I didn't write the PIN on the back of my card or anything like that, so someone else who may or may not have picked up my card having my PIN is already useless. There is literally no reason the PIN should have been reset or for it to have taken this long to get it back to me without offering some other option. I'll likely be switching financial institutions.

Mark Foster5This is not the name for my account,but that's good. This is the most competitive credit union around in terms of earnings and fees (or lack thereof). We have both a debit and a credit card so if one is lost the other is available to use. The internet access to the account is excellent. Fraudulent out-of-state purchases were caught immediately by the security company that monitors for same.
