Jerry Gonzales is the best, He made it all possible for us to get our home, we had tried many other places including banks, but those people were not willing to go the extra mile for our unique situation, as it would have required more work for them, but Jerry Gonzales was willing and able, he made everything easy and he was always accessible to us for any questions or any updates on our application, We truly recommend him if you ever want a loan of his specialty. Thanks!

For a very busy office I was happily surprised that when I asked a question, either Lisa or one of her staff responded very quickly. Her and her team did an amazing job getting my loan together, including gathering all the necessary information needed to complete the loan process. Very helpful and knowledgeable, I would definitely recommend Lisa to any of my friends looking to finance or refinance a home.

Of course all these reviews are from ages ago and doesn't reflect their current business practices. I was excited to start working with Academy Mortgage on finding a home loan and started to work with Albert. It seemed promising and provided all documentation requested along with permission to pull my credit. After forwarding all the documentation, Albert completely disappeared and never contacted me back. I touched base with him the week after providing my documents and was told he was reviewing them and would get back to me. That Friday and every Friday since, I've contacted him and all calls are ignored and sent to voice mail. If I am not an eligible candidate of any kind, I would encourage being told so rather than keeping me on the side lines with no contact whatsoever. Very disappointing and don't plan to proceed forward anymore especially after being neglected. I hope the rest of you don't have to deal with the same issues I've had to go through and have a much more pleasant experience.

If they had a negative zero that is what I would rate Oscar Segura. I couldn’t wait to get started I had been looking for a home for a few years and been in touch with Oscar. I had found a home and put in an offer so I decided to go with Academy Mortgage, BIG mistake. I’ve never been talked to so rude and in a condescending way. I was embarrassed that I chose that company, very unprofessional compared to the realtor I used, extremely low people skills. .When, I asked a question I was either ignored or was not given a direct answer or he tried to pass it off to the realtor even when it was a loan question. During the entire process he was adamant about making sure I had the closing costs set aside so that I had to close. Which I appreciated. He had sent me my CD which was itemized and also had the same numbers that he had given me for my closing costs. 10 minutes before I was supposed to meet with the notary public to sign loan docs he emails me and says the paperwork will show $7100 closing costs so I ask him why, what happened to the $5412? He doesn’t answer me? I ask him if it’s a mistake and should I hold off on signing? I call my realtor and he says Oscar didn’t send him a copy of the paperwork so he doesn’t know what ok talking about. So when I meet the Notary Public she agrees it is a large discrepancy she says she will hold off on turning in the paperwork. When I checked my emails he had sent an email that said go ahead and sign the paperwork my funder is narrowing the fees with title . “WE WILL NOT HAVE YOU PAY FOR ANYTHING YOU ARE NOT SUPPOSED TO” he lied! The next morning when I supposed to wire the money I reiterated $5412? He says “what did the paperwork have on it?” Wow! $1700 more! I can see a couple hundred off but $1700 off?? Where would I come up with $1700 in such a short time? Then he says the Title company added more fees which was a lie I called the Title company they said he never added the closing costs that I said that I would pay for the buyer, that I offered in the initial offer from the beginning. I offered to pay for the buyers closing costs, with the way the market is right now I needed my offer to stand out, in fact he was upset with me for offering that his job is to read the contract/offer and request fees from escrow and keep me posted on the process. He overlooked a couple of thousand dollars from the initial contract, His mistake. He should of took the hit but instead he DENIED the mistake blamed the title company. The realtor and broker recommended to him that since he overlooked it and made the mistake he should take the hit he again ignored (I heard that’s what he does, he is known for that) my realtor and broker paid for it . Then his supervisor Albert Lopez got involved and pointed the finger at me and said I accrued more fees. Wow! Unbelievable! NEVER! Will I use Academy Mortgage again! Albert Lopez and Oscar Segura are horrible. Worst experience in my life. After this I had talked to people that I know and have done business with that know Oscar and they told me if they knew I was going to be dealing with him prior to the sale they would of told me to “Run!!” Please do not use this person he will burn you in the end and do you dirty! Lesson learned! Learn from my MISTAKE and RUN!

Everyone was great. Lisa and Jessica said they would be available for questions any time, and what was incredibly refreshing was that they actually were. It removed a lot of the stress and anxiety for my wife and I, and we will definitely be using Academy Mortgage in the future. Though buying another house will hopefully be far, far in the future for us. :)

Lisa and her team were referred to me by Kathy Sanders of our Fresno office. Our buyer was my niece and a first time buyer at that. Lisa and her staff took excellent care of Sarah and her loan - helped her understand the process and took a lot of the "scary" out of buying her first home!

      Response from the owner

Thanks for the great review Denise! It is a pleasure working with you!

I'm very anxious to begin working with Albert Lopez. Mr. Lopez really helped me in obtaining information about restoring my credit. Hopefully with his help I should be able to purchase my first home within the year.
