ChargeDodger2For those looking to become an agent, ABN financial/The Alliance is good to get experience with and maybe learn from with the many videos available, but that’s pretty much where the benefit ends. I worked with them as an agent a while back but had some concerns with the leadership from ABN financial. For example, when you don’t get the sale, or don’t think you get the sale, I was encouraged to say “Well, the next time you’re serious about getting life insurance, here’s my card”. And when the customer says, “I am serious!” You say “Well, the truth hurts!”. And when you make an appointment, and the customer tries to call to cancel it, you are encouraged to go anyway to hope that since the customer couldn’t get a hold of you, that they will still be there for the appointment since they couldn’t get a hold of you. ABN’s strategy is to dig more into the emotions of their leads rather than worry as much about the pricing or benefit of plans, as you’re told if you do this right, you make the sale before you bring up pricing. As an agent, you can expect to pay up to around $35 for a “premium” lead that is sometimes less than a day old but is usually 2 weeks old as most of them are from the mail. Older leads from even months back that are way cheaper can still work well, but with my experience, it seems like they are all at the same success rate. From the customer’s perspective, the forms they fill and send back just say “For more information, put your contact info here”. Lead forms are broad and usually leads do not expect such solicitation that agents are encouraged to do. Agents regardless of if they can get a hold of customers or not, are expected to still go to their doors, and try to do business with them, while maybe visiting the neighbors as well. You also say your from the “Senior Benefits Center” or the “Family protection center” when you call one the phone, which I bet are said like that not only to sound attractive, but also so such solicitation cannot be traced back to ABN, or the Alliance for that matter. A lot of amazing work form home agent jobs that usually, but not always require a year or 2 of experience that have pretty much immediate, free, and more credible warm transferred leads are out there and will reach out to you if you put your credentials on employment/social business websites, that would knock the socks off this job. You get equipment and multiple state licenses paid for usually. I sold more policies with my newer job working 2-3 days than i did with ABN in a whole year. If you can get one of those jobs, I would go with them. If not, and no one else seems in reach for you, I might go here, not expecting to make too much money, and use the experience to go somewhere else way more credible, and get way more money, usually a salary on top of a commission structure usually better to understand than the commission structure here. Response to comment made by owner: I'm not sure how the owner claims to recognize me, after looking at previous emails no contact was made after using this one or this account. I attended meetings in both person before the pandemic, and the zoom calls/live streams. Though I caught him cursing on the Zoom calls on occasion, with such character in mind I appreciate at least the prayers done for me here and am grateful for the experience and learning I did here that led me to better places. I just know and believe that there are now better opportunities out there where there is higher income potential.
Response from the ownerI remember this agent. Never attended my weekly zoom training calls, never called much for coaching, didn’t work the program the way I teach. Always had a “yes but” attitude and always made assumptions and took things out of context. Always looking for the negative in everything. I always tell agents I am interviewing that we are not the right fit for everyone. I talk openly about my Christian approach to selling and treating clients and will quote scripture now and again and I encourage them to look me up on YouTube and check out my hundreds of training videos and if you feel we can work together then let’s rock. And if the do leave I pray that they find the right coach that can help them if it’s not me. God is In charge and his will be done. I pray that I might have helped them in their journey to find the right place for them. It’s always about attitude and this agent didn’t have the right one that fit my culture and coaching style. God bless.
