I have been with 1st United for years. I have one concern. The branch in Berkeley California on Milvia street has only one ATM. I had to make a deposit over a week ago but the ATM was out of service. I am a 70 year old senior citizen using public transportation. I need to go today but there is no direct line for me to call to enquire as to whether the ATM is operational.

      Response from the owner

Hi Rasheedah. We apologize for the inconvenience. We typically service ATMs in the morning, between 8:15-8:45 so if it was during that time, this is why the ATM was out of service. If it's ever out of service, know that you can use other ATMs in the area for no charge. There is one just up the street at Patelco that you can use to make your deposit to your 1st United account. You can find other ATMs at https://1stunitedcu.org/locations or text a zip code to 91989. I hope this information helps.

I appreciated how polite and patient the staff was. Applying at other CU's in the bay can feel like a swindle where the bank tries to trick you into signing away your rights and giving up as much of your personal info as possible. That did not happen at 1st United, and I am grateful that such places still exist.

Everything seems simple and easy; the staff is always ready to rescue you even if you don't ask for help. But because they're so attentive to everyone who stepped in, they notice immediately when you need help without you saying anything. I love going there.

      Response from the owner

Thank you for the 5 Stars! We appreciate the feedback.
