  The staff is always friendly and willing and ready to help with your financial needs. Unlike many financial institutions, they will get to know people by name. If you need a loan or are looking for a new place to have your checking or savings account, give them a call to see if you can become a member.

  1st Street Credit Union never disappoints. I have been a member of this Credit Union for over 25 years and I have always had a great experience with every transaction from start to finish. You are always treated like family and 1st Street Credit Union has a plethora of services as a one stop location for all of you banking needs.

  I wanted to open an account with a shared branch with my great CU back home now that I moved here. I should have listened to my gut instinct, because while I was filling out all the paperwork a gentleman that worked for the bank kept asking me where I lived and where my apartment complex was and even though I felt uncomfortable I didn't say anything. Then, they would not let me pull out a certain amount of cash for my check and told me that I would have a debit card within seven business days here it is 13 days later and I'm still without a debit card. The card company they use is down(?) And they cannot make me a card there.They failed to call me, they told me that it's out of their hands and that there's nothing that they could do about it. Now all my bills are late and I can't access my cash unless I drive 40 minutes to the bank where it's located. I will be closing this account on Monday and going and getting another credit union that values my time and business.

  Worst experience I have ever had at any credit union in any State. After patiently standing in line I was handed a small piece of paper that had been over duplicated. I was ordered to fill in. After completion I had to stand in line again. Teller was rude and spoke to me as if I were a child throughout my entire transaction. The lobby was cramped and unprofessional. Thankfully, Sarasota has a second credit union available to visitors, Everence Federal Credit Union.

  I agree with the reviews of this place going downhill. I had a savings account that had no activity for a year. I received nothing from the CU, not a call, not a letter, not an e mail about the dormancy. NOTHING. When I went back to the CU to deposit money they informed me that my account was closed (and they took the cash in the account ! ) There was nothing to attest to their rules on dormant accounts. Nothing that attested to what a dormant account costs as a penalty and no proof that they ever even sent a letter or an email. These dopes seem to make their rules up as they go along. They are combative, disrespectful, very unprofessional and rude. They do not care about you as a customer. Seriously, steer clear of these jokers.

  Do not join this bank. The staff are out of their minds with the napkins and jab. Horrible service. The worse bank I ever belonged to. Took all my money out yesterday. Avoid at all cost.

  I give a rating of two stars. When it comes to loans they are not provided fairly. This institution was much better prior to new management. I have talked to several other credit union members who feel the same! Am definitely seeking a new banking provider.

  First Street Credit Union brings the convenience banking at any credit union that is apart of the national network to Main Street with their affiliated-CU service. Fees for for 1st Street accountsa modest and straightforward, if present at all. Competitive rates for loans, cards, etc. Some of the nicest staff around --always personable, and we're developed a familiarity over time. "J" even once gave me a lift to my house when I was injured and without a phone, and walked into the branch to ask to call a taxi. Tell me that isn't a staff with immense heart. Keep rockin, First Street!
