Wright-Patt Credit Union Reviews

Melissa Stone1I understand having security policies to protect the clients but this place is a little over the top. My mother-in-law banks here. Have cashed a few checks she has written me there. Was treated like I had done something wrong last time. Tellers very rude to me. Never been so embarrassed. Told my in law sorry but I won't be taking any more checks from her. Also her ATM card was frozen a few times. ATM kept saying wrong pin even though right pin was being used. Very inconvenient. Just think they should be a little more in tuned to customers needs. Rules shouldn't be so rigid. We do most of my inlaws shopping etc. Wright Patt has made things very inconvenient for her. Wish she wasn't so scared to switch her bank.

Bonnie Rose2First off Kristy or Chrissy (not sure what she mumbled) EXTREMELY RUDE! condescending and wasn't helpful. Laura on the other hand was helpful and went above and beyond to EXPLAIN the situation to me. I don't deal with car loans and extra fees everyday... clearly I don't know the ins and outs of banking as I'm not in the industry. I have been using WPCU for 20 years, to be screwed out of my own money and then to be spoken to the way Kristy did... I was ready to close my accounts and look for a new bank!
Response from the ownerHi Bonnie, I apologize that you did not receive a 5-star experience. We always strive to deliver the best experience for all of our members. Please email your full name and contact information to [email protected]. A member from WPCU will reach out to discuss this further, thank you.

Brie Hope1Wright Patt has a rather strange practice of doing a hard inquiry on your credit report whether you open up a line of credit or not. Last month I opened up a savings account and this institution dropped my score 15 points with a hard pull. Couldn't they have just as easily done a soft pull since I'm not actually taking out a loan or getting a credit card? Just bizarre.

hiih8u21I'm very disappointed in the service I recieved today.. i pull into the bank 12/4/2020 right around 6 pm .. i sit in line till after 6:12 pm roughly 10 minutes to 12 minutes.. at this point a man from the bank comes out and tells me the last customer was the car in front of me , that I needed to back my car around others behind me who were also waiting ( a very unsafe situation )... I told the man I was not comfortable doing that .. and asked to pull forward . He then proceeds to ask cars ahead of me to squeeze together so I could get my suv around. I feel that the man spent more time getting me out of line than if he would of tending to me as a customer . Not to mention the neglect of safety when I was asked to back out of a line that's going one way . Then lastly , im pretty irritated I waited 10 minutes in a line not to be served . I feel the line needs to be better monitored .. and the 100s of cones that are just setting around could possibly be used to close the line verses creating unsafe situations and not tending to customers regardless of when they pull into line . this was over all an awful experience that could of been avoided by preplanning cone position and simply better monitoring the line .

Sid4Seems like everyone who is complaining has an extra special case. And waiting for a long time? Welcome to ANY BANK. Especially on the weekend. But I just came on a Tuesday at noon. No wait. A couple tellers available and a couple customers in the branch. And 77% of the time what you do in the bank you could probably resolve yourself online or at an ATM. Never had a problem with wpcu.
Response from the ownerThanks for the quality review and feedback, Sid!

Guana Lava1Very long wait times. If trying to see a bank rep it will be at least an hour wait. There is always a queue of people in the afternoons. Even If you try to go early and beat the crowd, they staff fewer reps so you still have to wait. Today there was only one person in front of me. I waited 30 minutes then was passed over for someone who came in after me but apparently had an appointment. So it was going to be another 30 minutes.
Response from the ownerHi Guana, sorry for the long wait! I will send your comments on the manager. If you have any further details about your experience or suggestions please send an email to [email protected].

todd eric1The staff are friendly enough but there's not enough of them, the place is too small and it is extremely slow. I hate going there, I mean I absolutely hate it...... and also,I can say for these people that gave them more than four stars is that they must be employees or spouses of people working there or only had one experience....
Response from the ownerHi todd, thank you for taking time to share your feedback. Sorry to hear you've been disappointed with the service at this location. We'd like the opportunity to talk more with you so that we could learn from your experience and share your feedback with our leadership team. Please email [email protected] with your full name and preferred phone number and we'll follow up with you for more information.

Jeremy Frantz1Getting one star because I can't give them zero. I've banked with wright Patt for over 7 years. I used to love this bank. Bragged to everyone I could of how great a bank it was, until the past year and a half. I thought it was just me but not alone... They came and took my deceased neighbors motor home from their home, less then a month after him passing and would not let his wife make payments on it. A business partner, switched to Fifth 3rd, because of there nonsense. Might as well call these people a BANK, not a credit union. Over 80,000 through my account in 2015, and treat me like I'm trash. The algorthims they use are just as bad as any bank. It's a different scenario from each, teller I was told this week by the manager. One day checks have no hold , same check, different day, and computer wouldn't let teller, cash it, and have to have manager come over, and fix situation again... Deposit money, then they post in house non sufficient fund charges to my account that supposedly happened at 9am in the morning, but we're not posted on my account, until at least 10 hours later, and after a deposit was made. I looked on my online banking was not there. I asked teller was not there. Then a day and a half later, it shows the fee, and they list it under, my deposit of the same evening. I'm a single father, struggling, and these people will kick you while you are down. If you don't know what banking algorthims are look them up. At least Huntington , a Bank, will give you till the end of business day to get money in your account, before they run it. Wright Patt can't even let you know, they wouldn't pay, or even post their fees to your account the same day. This is 2017. The technology is out there, they choose to use it to benefit themselves, and screw thier customers. Crooks...I will be closing my accounts soon. Business and personal accounts. I guess they are like everyone else, only good to you while you have money, and take advantage of you while you are down.

Miya the Human1I recently moved to Florida, there are no Wright Patts down here which is fine. But the day I got paid from my job down here my card got hacked. (Which has happened MULTIPLE TIMES! They have NO security with your information) So I called them told them those purchases were not me they sent a new card and I waited and waited for my card to come, I had pinched a nerve in my back so I’m REALLY needing my bank card to get medicine for this. I waited a week and called wright patt the lady told me they can’t forward federal mail... so I was waiting for no reason. She tells me she’s sending a new card so I wait another week. NOTHING! I call up there today and she tells me I need to wait until early next week to get my card. THREE WEEKS WITH A PINCHED NERVE AND NO ACESS TO MONEY. I’m already getting my other pay check they’ve kept me from my money so long! I’m so livid I cannot WAIT to switch banks. Wright patt is the WORST bank.
Response from the ownerHi Miya, I apologize for the long wait you're experiencing! If you could please send me an email to [email protected] with your name and phone number, and I will be sure your card is on its way. I would also like to share your story with our management team so they can see where the process broke down for you. Again, we apologize for this experience.

Michael Cohen2WPCU is getting pretty terrible on customer service. You can almost never reach anyone at the branches themselves via phone. You spend a ridiculous amount of time holding only to be transferred to an offsite call center who can't answer your questions. They recommend you go onto the WPCU website which didn't have the answer and is why I called to begin with. Also, when my card got skimmed they caught it in 30 mins, turned it off, but took 2 weeks to send me out a new one and told me they couldn't issue me a new one in the branch.
Response from the ownerHi Michael, thank you for taking time to share your feedback. We'd like the opportunity to talk more with you so that we could learn from your experience and share your feedback with our leadership team. Please email [email protected] with your full name and preferred phone number and we'll follow up with you for more information.
