      Must jump through many hoops to become a member. Applied online, received notification that I will be contacted 2-3 days for verification. Received email 3 days later to call a rep, called 3 different times "extension does not receive VM's", off to a great start! So much easier to become a member at other credit unions where they value your time.

      This Credit Union operates similarly as a bank and I have lost my patience with them. I have been a member when I was in middle school and it was Northwest Credit Union. Want to know where our money went? More locations. Where did it not go? Member services. Their checking, savings, and lending are not at great. Any interaction with the teller is fine but the moment you go deeper, forget it! When it came time to secure a mortgage for my first house in February 2014, the loan officer tried to push me into their balloon mortgage and refused to provide a conventional mortgage when they could clearly see in my bank account I had $60,000 dollars and I have employment. That still makes me extremely angry to this day. I went with another lender. My second experience with their loan department was in October 2018 for a new car. They were advertising a higher rate than another lender. I asked if I qualified (which I would because I had 785+ Credit Score), if they would match that rate. They told me no they would not but they couldn't give an explanation why and suggested to write to Wings. I followed through, wrote a question, received a response that they would forward it on to the department and expect a reply. Guess what, they never did.

      Beware. Opening a savings account at this credit union requires a HARD inquiry to your credit report. Never in my 30+ years of banking have I encountered this as a hard inquiry is generally for a reserved for requesting credit not a simple savings account. Ironically I was attempting to refinance through this credit union and they ran my credit for that, and refused to use the same score requiring a second check for the savings/membership to complete the refinance. None of which was communicated up front. The entirety of the application process was slow and communication was lacking. Take your business elsewhere.

      I would recommend this Credit union to my enemies. They’re just friends of customers who never got financial issues or running late on loan payments. The time a have a car loan with them and had a trouble to get insurance because of loosing my documents, they added $447 to my account just for one month gap of insurance. The second time, i lost my job and talked to their collector named AMY WILLIS cause i was running late on my monthly payments for the car loan, my account was restricted when i was using it to make other automatic payments and direct deposit. And they told me i don’t have right on my money in there and menacing to repossess the car. I wish i should give’em 0 star. They closed even my accounts which don’t impact the car loan (my credit card) with them without even telling me. When i asked them, the answer was kinda funny and disrespectful. It’s a Credit Union that contributes the most in ruining Customers and mess their credit up instead of helping them to build it. Disrespectful loan officers and Collectors, but good people on their reception.

      Only giving 1 star because there's no option to give 0. Been a customer for over 4 years with Wings and never had any problems, never overdrafted, lost a card, or filed a dispute prior to a few weeks ago. Recently, a merchant put a fraudulent charge through on my checking account. I have always had a good experience with Wings so I wasn't worried. Went in to file a dispute and everything seemed fine. It was a Friday morning, was told to expect a call the following Monday. After playing phone tag with Wings for over a week, leaving numerous messages for "Lynnanne", and jumping through a million hoops to prove that I was in the right (Might just be me, but I feel like the Financial institution should side with THEIR customer, and let the merchant prove what and why they charged), I was finally granted a credit. Again, although I was upset it had taken so much work on my part, I was happy and I thought everything was fine. The next week, I get a letter in the mail informing me of the credit, however it also stated that they would not be issuing me any more debit cards. Confused by this, I called Wings to which I was met with MORE waiting on hold. The representative I spoke with informed me that "When you lose a certain number of debit cards Wings will charge you a ten dollar fee" LIKE I SAID, I have never lost a card. This also does not explain why NO MORE CARDS would be issued to me. After being put on hold yet AGAIN, I was told someone would be contacting me with the right answer to my question within 24 hours. 2 days passed and I had not been contacted. Decided to take matters into my own hands and re-contact the original representative "Lynnanne" dealing with my dispute. I simply asked her what the letter meant, and explained that I was tired of being run around, to which I received an extremely rude response. I was told that "there is nothing more they could do for me". I was not asking for more money. I already had the dispute closed. I was also told that when my card expires, that they would issue me a new card with the same number. If I had my card lost or stolen, they would not issue me a new card number, meaning that I would be screwed over should anything ever happen to my card. I am at a loss, seeing as this does not even relate to my dispute. I don't understand why they would "punish" a loyal customer. I am tired of being run-around, receiving mis-information, and being dealt with as if I have been some irresponsible customer. I will be switching credit unions shortly. Avoid the hassle and go somewhere else. Wings is happy to help and friendly when you're faithfully putting your paychecks into their accounts. However, when you have a problem and someone tries to take advantage of you, they suddenly cannot be bothered to contact you. Never giving Wings my business again.

      Wings financial is honestly one of the sketchiest banks i’ve ever encountered. I have my car loan through them. and i’ve been getting over charged for months by over $200. and they wouldn’t return all the money they’ve over charged. just credited it towards my account. i didn’t owe a car payment for a few months then they still kept charging even though i had sat down with an employee there and they had assured me nothing would come out and i didn’t owe a payment for awhile because of being over charged. NOW i wake up to random amounts of money being withdrawn from my account. even though they over charged me by more than $2500. and it’s effected my credit because they were over charging me then sending me letters saying i wasn’t paying and was late on my car payment. Honestly i’m so disgusted by their service and the fact that instead of ever handling the problem they have their phone system send you in circles and hanging up on you. and then when you go in to see them in person they have the audacity to tell you to go home and call the number that sends you in circles because they can’t help you in the actual bank apparently. TERRIBLE customer service and PATHETIC work effort. SKETCHY. DO NOT WORK WITH THEM YOU WILL GET YOUR MONEY JUST TAKEN FROM YOU.

      Not impressed with this bank. I've had my car loan through wings for almost 2 years now and they are so inconvenient. Their website is outdated and extremely difficult to use and navigate, they force you to start a bank account with them in order to set up autopay (and charge a fee for autopay if you make less than FOUR payments a month through them), they have ridiculous fees to make payments online ($7.50) & over the phone ($16), if you forget your wings ID good luck getting that information from anyone, even if you can tell them your loan #, ss, name, address, etc.

      I love Wings financial as a credit union and wished the Bloomington branch didn't close down. What I did at that branch was when i needed to cash a check, they just wanted my wings ID and regular ID and they knew what I wanted... Every time I go to this location and send it... They don't say "hey how are you" it's more so "what do you want me to do with these checks?" the last 4 times. The tellers at the drive thru need to be more polite/ friendly and until then... I can't give the AV branch 5 stars...

      I've been banking with wings my entire life and have never had any issues at all. Trips there are short and successful. I've had many loans through wings and they've been extremely easy to work with. I love the mobile app too. A+ service and staff
