  An absolute blast. If you're on the fence you really owe it to yourself to give soaring a try at WVSC. I've been curious about gliders for years and finally decided to drop in for a ride on a Friday afternoon. Several club members were hanging out who made me feel welcome and talked me though what to expect. Steve took me up and the flight was incredible. The ride was smoother and quieter than I expected, and flying so slowly really lets you take in the scenery. Taking the controls for a bit myself it was clear I had a lot to learn, and that I was hooked. Can't wait to fly again with an instructor. A great place to try out soaring and a fantastic group of people to learn from if you get the bug yourself.

  Great group! Friendly, willing to share their extensive knowledge, plenty of instructors available if you "get the bug" and want to learn how to fly without aid of an engine. When you can fly without a motor, you really do know how to fly, and you'll be well prepared if you ever fly a powered airplane and have an engine problem!

  I am not a member but stopped by in 2011 with some of my family members to watch the sailplane operations. The longest-term member happened to be there and was a perfect ambassador for the club. He explained the operation, gave some history, and cheerfully answered all of my questions. Particularly charming was the consideration he gave to my 7 year old granddaughter to make sure that she enjoyed her visit. 1 and 1/2 years later we were invited (as a member of the RC club not far away) to their season-closing annual bonfire. A great group of fun people!

  Really fun experience! If you have ever wanted to soar in a glider, this is the place! Great flight, plenty of time at the controls and a friendly, experienced and safety conscious group.

  The most fun you can have in the Willamette Valley. A glider flight is an excellent safe adventure!
