  I was so anxious walking into their office. I had experience two years of costly mistakes by another CPA and the IRS wasn’t tolerating all the nonsense. My personal and business paperwork was a disaster and Susan walked me through the new tax laws and deductions available to me. She responded to my calls and emails quickly. Best of all, she cleaned up the tax mess and set my mind at ease. They swiftly prepared my returns and filed everything electronically.   BUYER BEWARE. My supervisor recommended Wilkow CPA; he sold his rental house partnership and Wilkow CPA finished his annual taxes for $250. I only needed a calculation of what would be the recaptured depreciation, and capital gains tax for my rental house if I sold this year at an appraised value for my pending divorce. I was told it would cost about 1/2 of the $189 hourly rate. It took Wilkow CPA over two business days at a charge of $350 for one simple calculation. The calculation had numerous formatting and misspellings and did not include recaptured depreciation and the judge did not credit me $28,500 in court, let alone any capital gains.

  Hi Mike, Our firm does not prepare partial returns, which was what was requested. As such, we are placed in a dilemma to make sure we do our due diligence and not provide misleading information. The description of the work involved multiple years in tracing depreciation and lack thereof. The work we performed did save significant money. However, unfortunately, the time involved was more than anticipated due to an underestimation of the years involved. Our quotes for work are based on what is provided in the initial meeting and we can only use that information on which to base pricing. We did previously offer you to take the work elsewhere and not pay our fees.
