Webster Bank Reviews

R M5I used this Webster Bank’s coin counter the other day. After using the machine, I went in line to cash in my receipt. The line was quite long, and 2 of the 3 tellers were involved in time consuming tasks, such as setting up a new debit card for a customer. I asked the branch manager if I could come back to cash my receipt, as I was in a rush. She informed me that the receipts have to be cashed in at the same time that they are printed. Knowing that I was in a rush, she went to the back of the bank to the drive up tellers and had one of them come up front to cash me out. I never had a chance to thank her because she was on the phone when I left. I just really appreciate her attention to customer service and doing what she can to help someone.

zx12rider1Waited 10 mins as the only person in line while the laziest teller ever made phone calls and walked away twice. Now I have to drive across town for service to get back to work. Customer service is not their focus.

Brendon Grandieri (theRealBrendini)1If I was able to give this establishment not a single star, I totally would. The building itself is very clean and sanitary, and the location is idealistic for it is in a very populated area. In terms of service, completely unacceptable and unprofessional. I went into the bank on a Saturday evening to use the coin kiosk machine they have available in the bank of their bank. After getting a slip for the total amount of change exchanged, I then waited in line for the next available clerk. I must admit, I was a little curious as to how the whole process worked since I have never done something of this nature before, but change builds up as we all know. When finally approaching the front desk, I asked her what would be the fee if I forgot my Webster card. My girlfriend, an account holder at Webster Bank, was just right outside waiting in my vehicle. The lady informed me that there would be a five percent (5%) fee of the final number but if I was an account holder that it would not apply. At this point and time the bank was completely empty, so I asked if the clerk could please wait one moment so I could go grab my ID since she had just requested that she receives it. While at my car, I asked my girlfriend is she herself had identification on her because even if she didn't have her card they would still be able to access her account according to the clerk. Her reply was not what I had anticipated so I simply accepted the fact I was getting the five perfect fee which was okay. When I re-entered the still empty bank, I apologized for wasting her time and explained I would not be using an account and would just be taking the fee. My girlfriend then walks in the bank because she found her identification, hooray! When she approached the front desk, she apologized and explained she had just found it and she was deeply apologetic for the inconvenience we were causing. The lady at the front desk then replied "I don't know why you're being so nervous, you guys didn't need to come in here and ******* lie and be liars." It was one thing to call us liars, but to swear at me inside a professional establishment? That is completely and utterly outrageous. I simply replied with "Listen, it's not your job to determine if we're lying people or not but I can see the confusion and that's not what the problem is here-" and before I could even finish explaining the process of this whole confused situation, the lady spoke her mind with no filter. She then started to write my information on my card down so I snatched it away for there was no reason for her to be doing that and it was violating my privacy since my home address is in fact on my state license. When I had snatched the ID, and said I would rather just go to another Webster bank and make the transaction there she then threatened to call the police if I did not give her back my ID. Dumbfounded, I gave her my card and silently sat there until the painful process was finally over. When I requested their names, they would not even have the decency to give me them, only getting the supervisors name, Christine, who was just as rude. This was a very unprofessional experience and I am unhappy with the total experience. Needless to say, my girlfriend and I will both be opening accounts elsewhere.

Angela Fallon4Since when has webster resorted to calling people at home to promote home equity loans?? I was concerned that there was a problem with my account only to be told it was a courtesy call to see if I am interested in a home equity loan. Send it in the mail next time! I'll contact you if I need anything. More of a nuisance than a courtesy.
