  This was my second time working with Brian from VanDyk mortgage. He handled the mortgage on my first home purchase and now my refinance. I reached out to him on several occasions after my purchase to see if it was a good time. He told each time that it may not be the best time and when it was, we went ahead with the refinance saving me a lot of money. My first mortgage was quick and painless plus he looked for ways to make it quicker and save me as much money as possible with the closing costs. After how well was I treated and the communication afterwords I knew I wanted to refi with him. After the typical paperwork, we received rapid approval and a good rate. Being an over-thinker, I wanted to do due diligence and shop around to make sure I was getting the best deal. That extra shopping introduced me to how misleading frankly crooked this industry could be. I dealt with loan officers that were rude, acted like used car salesmen, treated me like a number, tried to take advantage by misleading rate information, wouldn’t get back to me until 24-48 hours later if at all. It was a harrowing and time wasting experience that I put myself through for nothing as Brian saved me the most money even though the rate was “technically” higher than some others but as I found out, the rates are only a small part of the picture. The other companies offered a lower rate but I would have ended up paying a lot more money. The lesson was that had I just went with Brian’s numbers and offer then I’d had saved myself so much stress and wasted time. Brian, both times, treated me like a human being and acted like a genuine one himself. He acts with honesty, integrity, and rapidly responds back with questions. I am a very tough and demanding customer to deal with because I’m very diligent especially with something this important. He never sounded irritated at my barrage of questions throughout the process, and treated me with an absolute and incredible amount of patience. I feel very lucky and fortunate to have worked with him both times. I simply can’t recommend him enough and he has my eternal gratitude, and referral as long as he is in the business. If you want the best no nonsense, no subterfuge deal right up front and a very relaxed and pleasant process then go with him as your lender, you won’t regret it. A special shout out to Carey Krien who processed the paperwork. She worked efficiently, diligently, and was also another key component to such a smooth mortgage process both times. With full and absolute confidence, I recommend Brian Skaar and Carey Krien from VanDyk Mortgage for anyone’s mortgage needs including my friends and family. Thank you Brian!

  I did a refi with VanDyk Mortgage. Carey is super knowledgeable and helpful. Always willing to help and explain anything you have questions on. They keep you informed through out the whole process so you always know where you are and what is coming up next. The got me a lower rate and a lower monthly mortgage.   My wife and I keep getting unsolicited mail from a someone supposedly with this company. I don't know how else to get this person to stop spamming my mailbox with letters in envelopes that don't even bear the company's logo. I'm afraid to call or email because if I do, I may end up getting spammed that way as well. If my wife and I were looking to refinance, we'll probably go with a different company - one that doesn't constantly spam us.
