United Community Bank Reviews

Pam Phillips1Very dissatisfied with this bank. I had a problem and couldn't get any of my phone calls returned. Can't wait to find another bank.

April Giuliani1These people are the most lying dishonest and break every rule a bank can and apparently are able to get away with it til now! I don't understand how this bank stays in business! There is a lady Teresa that works there that I hope after I finish reporting her she looses her job because no one should ever go thru what this lady has done to me ! Whatever you do stay just as far away from this bank if anyway possible! Use cash app its more professional than these people!

Don Rodger1Since Four Oaks was purchased by UCB, their service went down hill - fast. The people at the branch are very nice but UCB as an entity is TERRIBLE! The fact that they use the words "Community Bank" in their name is a joke. They could care less about their customers and they treat you as if you are a bother to them. I have multiple business accounts that I am moving to another local bank. It's unfortunate as I've been with them for a long time and I really like the people at the branch. But corporate is awful! Stay away from this bank or I promise you'll wish you had.

Natalie Rodeniser5I used to bank with a large national bank but chose to go with a smaller bank. The tellers are all nice and the wait time is minimal. You can tell they care. I never get pestered to open other accounts or credit cards which I have gotten from several other banks. I have enjoyed banking here and find the fees and rates to be comparable if not better than other banks.

Charles The 3rd1Employees closed doors early! I was standing outside their doors at 4:58pm looking at the clock on my cellphone as the teller was telling me, through the door, that they are already shutting down the computers... Piss poor customer service! It was most likely a new employee OR a long time employee that was not hip with providing customer service; well for all I know this is United Community Bank’s intended level of customer service? Well now I’m on my way to pawn almost every piece of electronics in my house so that I can get immediately accessible funds for an unforeseeable event which happened to my fiancé early this morning and resulted in us needed enough funds to cover her bond! I’m actually going to find out the legality of a bank closing down services, which allow immediate access to my funds, when there is not state of emergency! P.S.- I don’t bank there but my friend whose account I needed to deposit the check into does!

Charlie G3i am in the process of closing my account there...after the bank changed hands the service is not where it was....but ok. i am closing because every time i take a large amount of money out or transfer, they ask me a 1000 questions, and sometimes they block a transfer. the bank can handle paychecks or xmas bank accounts, but can not handle large deposits or transfers.

Ted Smith1I went to this bank to get change, and there was no issue with whether the currency I wanted was available. It was. Then the teller asked whether I was a customer, and I said no. With a gleeful smile, the teller then said their rules don't allow change for non- customers. So, I made the extra trip to my bank, where a teller I'd never seen didn't even ask whether I was a customer before giving me my change. Just like every other time at every other bank I've been to over more than 50 years. This is a great example of how not to do business. Say no when saying yes would cost you nothing, and ensure that person will never become your customer.

Jessica G1The fact that they have the nerve to call themselves “United Community” bank is appalling. They do NOT work with their clients, they are self serving and do not honor existing agreements. Todd McIntyre is absolutely one of the worst business men I have ever encountered, his professionalism is a joke to put it mildly. I will NEVER use their services again, and I recommend no one else does either.

Sherry Hill1Hate, Hate, Hate these people. I am a small business owner and Four Oaks was great. However, since the changeover to United Community, it's been the worst experience ever. So much so, I'm going to another bank today and open accounts. I would never recommend these people to anyone

Evan Caulfield1I agree with the other Reviewers here, the customer service is horrible. Try to make a phone call direct to the bank you have to go through hoops to get through. And once you get through, you have to leave voicemails to speak with someone. Whenever I call online customer service I am placed on hold forever, the “customer service representative” on their chat system can usually never answer my questions and refer me to the 800-number La Di Da.. I hate making negative reviews, but I feel it’s my duty to warn you before you make the jump.
