  I have on many occasions over the years used this banks atm without problems; this am the ATM ate my card; there was/is nothing wrong with the card; I contacted the issuing bank right away ; they assured me there are no problems with the card. At 9:30 am sharp I went into the bank and asked them to retrieve my card from the machine; ( it has been done before a long time ago) they refused ; telling me it was destroyed and they can't do it/wont ! So since I know they were lying I asked them to bring me the pieces; this was also refused; I called a central Us bank customer service who tells me the ATM is serviced by an independent co , which I know the stand alone ATM s are. These people lie through their teeth ! i had an acct with this bank previously but gave it up for this very same reason. I am only too sorry I ever used them again for any reason. As far as I am concerned US Bank just engaged in theft from me. I am going to try and file a police report. It may not do any good, or for that matter be possible. However it's worth a try. DO NOT USE this US Bank ! To add insult to injury the response from US Bank further amplifies the lies , sorry attitude & service . They clearly had the card.( despite telling me different) It would have taken a minute to call my Danish Bank using the 800 # on the back of the card and speak to the representative and verify there are NO ISSUES with the card. Now it will take 6-8 weeks, if I'm lucky to get another one shipped by DHL; & it will cost ~ 100$. I am told The rockaway Beach US Branch routinely will have the decency to call people who have inadvertently lost their card in the ATM. If you are a tourist visiting Manzanita from abroad, need travel cash & this US Bank takes and keeps your card for no reason. Be prepared to cut your vacation/visit to Manzanita & Oregon short. Expect NO courtesy. Clearly Manzanita businesses that rely upon visitors from near and far are not well served with this banks attitude; just imagine a tourist wanting to use their card to book a room and not be able to because of the attitude; NOT the lack of ability of this local branch In response to the US bank response : What person walks into the bank to reclaim a stolen card ? Not to mention I have now also been called a thief ! Finally , at the moment my 96 year old mother is having some serious health problems. Now I have to wait 6-8 weeks for another card so I can secure airfare. Thanks a lot US Bank mgr/owner. ! I will not ever forgive or forget your treatment of me. I shall continue to monitor you!

  Good morning, Jens. Thanks for taking the time to leave a review. I understand how frustrating it is when an ATM retains your card. I apologize our policy around this wasn't explained clearly. For security reasons we don't give back retained cards from other financial institutions. We have now way to verify why the card was retained and destroy them as a fraud preventative measure. I apologize for any inconvenience this has caused you. ^Heather

  Manzanita branch of US Bank is totally outstanding!! They are miles above other banks and locations because the employees care about their clients. Every time I go there for transactions I am greeted with great attitudes, helpfulness, kindness and consideration. It makes each day brighter, no matter the weather outside. What a blessing...thank you, branch manager and employees!
