Tucson Federal Credit Union El Rio Branch Reviews

Natalia Branderhorst5I have always had a great experience with TFCU, and this is the best branch that I've had the pleasure of doing business with. I had to sell my vehicle which still had money owed on it. The buyer and I showed up to the location and had everything settled within ten minutes. Highly recommend this convenient branch if you're anywhere in Tucson.
Response from the ownerThank you, Natalia! We appreciate your kind review and thank you for being a TFCU member!

Bluezhawg1Ridiculously long wait times horrible communication access and generally service that is in decline. I’ve been a member for seven years and I thank my lucky stars for virtual baking from my computer because if it weren’t for that I couldn’t get to my money. I cannot believe how far downhill TFCU has gone it is unbelievable. It’s a strange situation when I can call my credit union three states away and get cheerful service in moments on the phone what has happened over here at TFCU?. Clearly I’m not alone and that’s really sad. This credit union has remained completely locked down and indifferent about customer care truly truly sad.
Response from the ownerHello Bluezhawg, we’re very sorry to hear about this experience and would appreciate the opportunity to discuss this with you. My name is Amy, I can be reached at 520-351-5028. Thank you!

Andrew Kirby1I'm looking for a Credit Union closer to my home and so when I received a small check drawn on this institution I decided to cash it and see what the service is like. Glad I did. First I had to remove my hat [which given I'm almost 70 I regard as ridiculous]. Then I had to agree to a $5 fee (which amounts in this case to a 12.5% tax). Then, despite having seen my driver's license, they wanted me to write on the check my address and my telephone number. Surely we're done? No, now we need a fingerprint. At this point I left and I shall be taking my not-insubstantial business elsewhere. I've received better service at the nearby Wells Fargo, which should cause any Credit Union customer service manager some distress.
Response from the ownerMr. Kirby, thank you for bringing this to our attention and we are sorry we couldn’t provide an exceptional experience. We are always looking for ways to improve our processes so we appreciate your feedback.

Connor Atkinson1You’d think the people who hold onto your money would be more considerate. Swear every time I stop by the bank for a simple transaction it’s takes forever and you get an attitude from the tellers. Thomas is top notch though stand up guy

Peter Althoff1Hands down, one of the worst banks I've ever had the disservice of going to. I tried to deposit a payroll check from the University of North Carolina, and the teller told me she didn't trust it, and there would be a 7-10 business day hold. After escalating to the manager, they said they'd allow us access to $100 and the rest would be available after 3 business days. I was told that I could take and have it cashed at the bank it was drafted from, but unfortunately the teller wasn't aware of nearest "FEDERAL RESERVE" and seemed to be confused when the fact she didn't know what that was made me angry. Essentially a teller and manager's judgement call is what drives policy and approval. I asked "if this were a payroll check from McDonalds, would there been an issue?" and they said no because that's an institution they recognize. Apparently the first public university, and Michael Jordan's alma-mater isn't something she's familiar with, and seems sketchy. This plus the general lack of professionalism and polish that I expect from a bank made me realize that although I enjoyed my NC sate employees credit union, I would need to go to an actual bank where people understand at least where the dollar is printed.

Jessie V S C M Rebl5Tucson Federal Credit Union is a first class institution with a small community focus. They don't play games with overdraft fees or hide multiple banking charges like other larger banks I've used in the past. No matter where I've lived or travelled, TFCU has supported me and my banking needs.
