Tucker Loan & Jewelry Reviews

Desiree Gambino5I was planning on guitar shopping as a Christmas gift, and decided to stop into nearby Tucker's Pawn Shop on Whittier Blvd and Arizona Ave in East LA first. I was amazed to receive a Christmas Miracle when I saw a small, beginner's guitar hanging on the wall at the entrance of the store. It was perfect! I was pleased that I didn't have to waste time shopping around and spend a lot of money. Larry and Suzy gave me a good deal and even threw in a free guitar case. I'll definitely come for more gifts and jewelry.

Betty Munoz5I been going to Tuckers for years!! They are very Friendly very Helpful!! I don’t know why they have bad reviews because they are nothing like what people are putting on here!! Don’t let these reviews stop you from going go in and find out for yourself!! Like they say don’t let a rotten apple spoil it for you!! They’re the best!! Thank you Tuckers 😊

Lawrence Durand5When navigating through the world of pawn shops, you have to watch where you go. Shady, greasy, unkept pawn shops and their operators are all around. Getting a fair price or loan for items is hard to acconplish... Not so at Tuckers. Tucker's shop has been an ELA institution for pawn, loans, and purchase. The shop is well kept and secure as always, ready for the Covid era in santitizing, and safety. Tucker's crew is excellent with Suzy managing giving out generous loans with pleasant customer service. I have been going there for decades when needed and it still is like a "Cheers bar where everyone knows your name." The Tucker legacy lives on! Skip the rest and go with the best. ~L. Durand

Andy Financial1If I can give zero stars I would. This place is a thief!!! They want to loan below less then 50% on market value. Employees there are not professional to know about gold! I know some people want local but in the west side area Beverly Pawn was the best. From 1,000 they offered in a loan at Beverly Pawn I got twice as much. Beware from these places because they take advantage of those who dont know.
Response from the ownerHello Andy. I am so sorry that you had a bad experience at our store. I spoke with our manager, who helped you, and watched the recorded video of you being in our store. You had an item that weighed around 69 grams. We did not test the item, only gave you a ballpark for loan based on item weight. Once we gave you the ballpark (which was about 70-75% LTV), you said that you get over spot price at another pawn shop (which would be 132.8% LTV). Our manager looked at both of you, gave your items back and politely said "that is a really good deal", gave you stuff back, you said "thank you ma'am" and you left. There was no other interaction... You were in our store for less than 3 minutes. As you were walking out, the women you were with loudly said ("oh no f*** that s***)... which was a little bizarre, but it is what it is. Additionally, we called Beverly Pawn and asked for a quote on a loan based off the item you had, they quoted the exact same amount that we quoted you.

M Rcoin271Went here to buy silver. The staff was not knowledge about testing the silver that they had in the store except by showing me that it does not stick to magnet. What a joke.
Response from the ownerHello M Rcoin27! All of our silver coins (that we have for sale) come from our main office which distributes them our individual locations. All coins go through the following prior to being put out for sale: weight test, metal purity test, x-ray test. If you are the customer that came in with 8 coins this week to either sell or get a loan, we did not even touch your coins as you were asking for more than what we sell them for. Please keep in mind that we try our best to accommodate every single customer's needs... but we still need to operate with the business's interest in mind.

Homeless Gamer1New owners kept the name. They changed the way this pawn shop used to work. New business model seems very shady. If you plan to sell then its fine.
Response from the ownerHi Matthew, I am so sorry you had a bad experience. Please understand that we are highly regulated by the State of California and our loan department now has to follow all of the new rules and regulations that the State of California imposes on us. If we do not follow these rules, we are subject to penalties. If you could give any feedback on how our business model feels shady, I would greatly appreciate it, as that is not what our objective is. Please email me directly at [email protected] to talk about the experience you had. J

Jessica Rodriguez1I prefer reeds because they loan me more. But this one closes later so i had no choice than to go there. Overall it was ok. Even tho they didnt lend me as much as the other pawn.
Response from the ownerHi Jessica! I am so sorry that you did not have the best experience. Is it possible that you pawned under a different name? We ran a search in our system and we have no one by your name that has pawned an item in the past 5 years... Regardless we pride ourselves on being one of the leading lenders in Los Angeles. We have a guarantee that we match or beat any other pawn shop for price of loan. Feel free to contact me directly if you ever plan on coming in again!

Matthew Rodriguez1How you gonna tell me a guage shivel 14 cost 10$ dont come here to sell tools foreals
Response from the ownerHello! You had no ID and your tool had neither a brand nor makers mark. We passed completely on your item and never gave you a value; as doing business with someone that has no ID is against the State of California rules and regulations for secondhand dealers
