Frederick Robey (Wraithdog)1Been with BB&T since they were Owensboro National Bank, then AREA Bank, and now the current and by far worst incarnation. The staff are friendly enough as other reviewers have mentioned, but the bank policies are downright insane and getting worse by the day. We paid a contractor with a check drawn on our BB&T account...upon taking it to this branch he was told there would be an $8 fee. To cash THEIR OWN CHECK. I wouldn't have believed it if I hadn't been there with him at the time. We were also told that was a "longstanding bank policy" which is totally bogus...in 20 years I've never heard of ONB, Area, or BB&T charging a fee like that before now. Never in my life have I heard of a financial institution charging a fee to honor their own check...absolutely outrageous. To add insult to injury, I couldn't even pay the poor contractor in cash because the ATM was broken. Ended up voiding the check and drawing the cash out of a foreign ATM with my Fidelity CMA account...which reimburses foreign ATM fees and pays interest with no minimum balance or monthly fees. Banks are supposed to pay YOU to hold your money, not the other way around...and BB&T has forgotten that. Run, don't walk, away.

Tim Wright1The tellers are great but the bank policies are ridiculous. Deposited check on a Saturday and now its Monday and they are telling me it will be Tuesday before my funds will be available. They started charging me $12 service charge for a free checking account so im bone with bbt. As soon as my check is available i will b drawing all my checking acc and daughters savings out and moving them to somewhere more realistic. Dont waist your money going here.

Jacob M1Worst BB&T in the world I think. Travel across the US and this was the first time I was told I needed my ID to DEPOSIT funds... in my home town. This place is a joke and the customer reviews show how poorly the attitude of the employees are there.
