      I visited the branch banker in person last week to discuss opening an account for my father’s estate. I explained that there were unusual circumstances in that there are co-executors, with one residing in Wisconsin, and showed him relevant documents. He assured me that he could handle this request. After a call to my brother, he sent additional documents to the banker and I was finally able to make an appointment (after three days of attempted calls and email). At the appointed time, the banker was just beginning to read the documents. After playing with his keyboard and mouse for a time, the banker finally stated that Truist could not open an account. My wife and I will both be moving to a new bank that offers real customer service.

      I was concerned when BB&T merged with Sun Trust to become Truist that some of the services I had enjoyed with BB&T would no longer be available to me. One of those services was the ease with which foreign checks were always processed with BB&T. I was assured that nothing would change, and that the transition would be smooth and trouble free. This has proven not to be the case. Not only have I experienced inconvenience and delays in processing foreign checks, but the attitude of the staff at the Mount Pleasant, SC branch is appalling. Not once I have been offered an apology for my inconvenience but, instead, receive nothing but excuses for their incompetence. Today was the last straw for me. I went in to my branch with two foreign checks only to have the teller groan when I handed her the transaction! She went away for what seemed ages and then came back to tell me she was unable and not authorized to process the transaction, made worse by the fact there was no one else there who could help. She did not offer an apology but just told me I would have to come back at a better time! I have decided to research other banks who will treat me with courtesy and respect, and be worthy of my investment. I have reached the end of the line with Truist after my experience today :(

      Not surprised to see that as I write this review that 7 of the 8 current reviews are one star. It appears my customer service experience is the norm at Truist. All I need is a loan statement for my taxes that I have yet to receive. Its (3 months old) not available online or via the app and believe it or not the bankers don't even have access to their own loans in the branches. Every time you call customer service its at least an hour wait. It even gets better.....banker didn't even want to initiate a call to customer service because he knew he would be on hold after close. In the past several days I have been able to conduct bank transactions with Wells Fargo, South State, Pinnacle, AMEX via customer service phone support with a zero minute wait. Hope this information helps consumers realize what a poor financial institution this is.

      Truist is a garbage bank that wont answer phone at locations. app & atm always down. On hold for 2 hours just to speak to rep. Avoid this bank at all cost. Suntrust was bad but the truist merger brought this calamity to a whole new level of bad customer service. Embarrasing for the employees.

      I have just spent 1 hour and 20 minutes (all but 10 minutes of that) on HOLD to try to get my auto-draft account changed for my mortgage payment. There’s no excuse for this poor service online!! We have closed our accounts and only have the mortgage account there - can’t wait until we don’t have that there any longer!

      A couple of years back, I wrote that they do not like to pick up the phone. Called several times within an hour. No answer, only voicemail. Today it was the same. You do not even know if there is anyone alive. Horrible service.

      Fortuna and Logan are the best. I highly recommend this location. It is worth the drive from other areas!
