Sarah Tacy1STAY AWAY FROM TRUIST! If I could give this bank negative stars, I would. I began banking with Bank of Kentucky many years ago and after being hot potatoed to BBT and then Truist I determined I’m done with this bank. It has taken me 6+ trips to this bank to close the multiple accounts and credit lines I have. Every time I visited the bank there was another reason why I couldn’t close an account. I begged them to freeze all accounts, etc and there’s always an issue the next time I returned. On one of my last trips I was told by the banker all accounts were closed aside from one credit line. I provided a check to clear the balance and she stated she’d close the account the next day once it processed. I called the next day and that banker was out sick, and the replacement staff could not find my check (over $1000!!) even though the money was pulled from my other bank account! It took them multiple hourse to “find my money”! I still have one account open. One that I can’t close online because the app will not allow me to pay from an outside source and insists I need to open a Truist account to pay it. Now my credit score is being affected. I guess I’ll need to take my 7th trip to this bank and get jerked around a bit more.

bby1I feel like this bank is stealing people’s money. I swear I’ve had to get a new card at least 6 or 7 times within the past year (I used to NEVER have problems with this bank until just last year & sometimes it wasn’t my choice to get a new card), because every couple of months, my card is charged when my account doesn’t have a lot of money on it (I stopped putting my money on my card for this particular reason) and let’s say I have $1-5 on my card (I just keep a little bit of money on it so it won’t go negative) I noticed my card is charged for like $4 or $5 but it won’t say for what in the screen where it shows your purchases & I can’t find what it is for in my Apple purchase history either. So it makes my account go negative and I can’t even show them proof of what charged my card for a dispute because in my account it doesn’t say there’s a charge. I’ve also had to go so far with this hoping my card won’t be randomly charged that i had to turn my card settings to where it blocks any purchases, any atm transactions, deposits, withdrawals, e-commerce, everything when I’m not using my card and somehow it still charges my card. happened to me today 09/09/20 (that’s why I’m writing this because I’m fed up & hopefully it’s not happening to anyone else) and I’ve tried telling the people at the bank Michelle & Jordan (Newport KY location on Monmouth) and I just really felt like they didn’t care at all and didn’t think it was strange or weird that it keeps happening. The other lady with the shorter black hair is much nicer and more caring. Getting a new card literally doesn’t make a difference. It’s just an annoying process I’ve had to go through waiting on a new card every couple of months. If there’s some low balance fee I’m not aware of or something then I’d appreciated if they would of told me because I don’t know if there is or what the deal is. It only happens when my account has $1-5 on it... and yes you’re probably wondering why I haven’t switched banks yet, trust me, I’d love to but I don’t know which banks are good & trustworthy. Also BB&T in Newport is literally 5 minutes away from my house & I don’t have a car so going to a bank further out isn’t the best option for me. I don’t know what to do. :/

AW Gambino PhD4Drive thru ATM is open 24,7. The inside of the bank is open normal business hours and with a very friendly staff. BB&T offers great rates on all of their banking products, stop by or visit them online.

Kennedy Franklin1This bank has lost my trust. I signed papers to "Opt-out" of overdraft fees when I signed up, and that wish was not honored. Somehow I was sneakily signed up to "opt-in" instead, which conveniently earned them over $100 of my money which they refuse to refund even on courtesy now. If you must bank with BB&T, I strongly recommend working with the Covington location on Madison Ave instead of Newport. They were much more friendly and actually spent time with me working on a case there. The manager at this Newport location has NEVER made me feel at all like they care about their customers, like BB&T would like you to believe.
