  A friend of mine just used this company, along with her real estate agent to close on the sale of her home. All I can say is Shame on you! Increasing the closing costs to over double amount due ( hoping inexperienced buyers/sellers wouldn’t notice) so the title company/agent can split the difference! Buyers beware- read your paperwork and do your research so this doesn’t happen to you.

  I spoke with your friend late yesterday about this transaction that actually closed two years ago. In looking at the paperwork in our system, Title followed the documents provided by the Lender. In this case your friend questioned a fee that Title brought back to the Lender who in turn adjusted the paperwork prior to closing which can happen when any party to the transaction finds a discrepancy. Unfortunately this does happen on occasion and your comment above about reading the paperwork is ever so true. Title Agency of Florida has been in operation for 30 years at the same location. They are owned and operated by Fidelity National Title, a fortune 300 company that has rigorous security and internal accounting protocols in place, including consistent file audits, to ensure that all employees adhere to very high standards of compliance. But most importantly Title Agency has a reputation for integrity in their marketplace. They know it is the most important asset of all and they would not sustain their business for all these years if they didn’t protect the safety and security of their homeowners.
