  Third Federal Refinance Review: I worked with Third Federal while refinancing my home. While I ultimately chose to go with a different lender solely based on closing costs, I felt it was necessary to share my highly positive experience working with Mary Robinson who is the branch manager. I initially felt that working with one of the other staff members was challenging. I reached out to Mary to see what could be done. From that point on, she took over and treated me with so much respect, courtesy, and professionalism. Her responses were so fast and always answered exactly what I was requesting. I truly appreciated the ease of working with Mary and in the future would highly consider working with her if I need another mortgage or refinance. Thank you again for turning this into such a positive experience!!!

  Beware, they do not withhold money for insurance when using them for a mortgage. They only withhold taxes or flood insurance. This should be explicitly stated. Not an ideal situation. Recommend to consider someone else if you'd like it all done together in your account.

  very disappointed with Third Federal! While shopping several lenders for a mortgage loan, a Third Federal loan officer and I developed a plan for the loan with regard to closing costs and an interest rate and i received an approval that was all supposed to be good for 60 days. After a home purchase contract subsequently went through Third Federal I reviewed the loan package and realized that, without any prior discussion or notification, about $3000 in additional closing costs had been slipped in ... visible on page twenty-something of the package. My loan officer was, strategically, "out of the office" when i called and I spoke with some surrogate who, annoyingly, refused to answer my questions and continued trying to provide education on loan products... even after I informed him that I thoroughly understood the loan products (I am a real estate broker). 3 times he told me, "we don't do business that way." Really?!? They DID conduct business this way, with me at least. Third Federal wasted my time and would have completed screwed up the purchase timeline if I had not been willing to self-finance the purchase (which i did). I most definitely recommend against this lender!

  Third Federal has been nothing but wonderful for me and my husband in our home loan. They have us the best APR we could find and saved us tons. A REAL HUMAN ANSWERED MY PHONE CALL AND POLITELY AND PROMPTLY ANSWERED ALL MY QUESTIONS and there really is no price you can put on that I mean seriously. Thank you.

  I would recommend this institution for a home loan. Great customer service and provide exactly what they say they will!
