The State Bank Reviews

Chris McConnell2Poorly executed roll-out of new system. Unable to handle basic communications on their website to inform people of what's known to not be working and any updates on resolutions. Instead, left to call or chat daily with them. Chat is typically people who have no idea what's down, so you have to educate them first on the topic. Enjoyed this bank mostly before, despite not being as good as my last one, which I left simply due to location. However, in no way can I recommend this bank overall. Nothing stands out above other banks in any way.

ALISA DICKERSON1This bank is probably the worst bank I ever known in my life. On a current deployment, husband told them twice the 2 countries I was traveling to. My card got declined bc its fraud.. both of the countries I had to travel to. Do u have any idea how embarrassing this is to have no access to my money!! No access when I'm on a deployment and you do this to me! How an embarrassment of bank this is. I have clearly enough money and I'll say this fix my card!!! My husband be coming in to tell u 3rd time but ur brain clearly doesn't work when we give u a heads up

Will B1Ever since The State Bank bought out Farmer's State Bank it has been a complete joke of a company. Nobody seems to know what's going on or how to assist with *anything*. As soon as rates go down I'm moving my loans out of this establishment.

Chris Burke5We have been doing business with The State Bank for years, from business loans, personal loans, checking and savings. David Bishop went over and beyond for my personal loans and Tom in commercial loans has always stepped up at protected our Business. Thanks State Bank.

Emily Fleming-Miller1I have banked at state bank for almost 3 years now. Have loved them up until now. The new teller connect machines are a nightmare. I deposited my check into my account yesterday around 11, and found out that night that my check never hit my account and now have a negative balance. Was then told it would be fixed by the end of the business day. It's now 6pm the next day and my account is STILL negative and nothing has been done. Extremely disappointed I don't have my money because I was going to grocery shopping today.

Joseph Samona1I have sent many referrals to this Bank. They did a great job on Line of Credits until they started discriminating against me and probably my clients. They basically accused me of being the root of the problem. Stacey is rude and condescending. This is the worst experience of all time. Would not use them unless you want to be discriminated against. Horrible time now.
Response from the ownerThe State Bank works very diligently to ensure sound and fair loan practices. It is unfortunate that we are unable to continue assisting in your referral business but it is not due to any discriminatory reasons. The reasons behind our decision are not for public forum – but they were explained to you during the phone conversation. If you have further questions or concerns, please feel free to call back and speak to someone on our team.

Sherry Ricketts1Run to the next closest bank. Employees are treated terrible unless your in " The Fenton Click". Take a look at turnover numbers . You either dont stay or you're a lifer....scared to make a change. Also...take a look at the board.....ALL MIDDLE AGED WHITE MEN! Employees depend on folks that have left to relay messages because they are afraid to get fired. Shout out though to lenders...most are great people and Margaret Cady and Nicole Green for keeping the place running....

Faris Bunni5I highly appreciate and admire the swift action and performance of Ms Jeanine Sapelak/Community Banking officer at Fenton Branch, without her, I wouldn’t have been approved for a home equity line of credit loan. Her patience and efficiency was much beyond my expectations in comparison to many other famous banks and financial institutions. I would, on behalf of my family, like to thank her and wish her all the best in her future pursue and career.
Response from the ownerThank you so much for your feedback. We are extremely fortunate to have Jeanine on the team, and are thrilled she could help you. Please don't hesitate to reach out if you need anything at all!
