  Please do NOT use them. We uploaded all of the documents they needed from the get go, but then kept receiving messages that they didn't have some of them. Then I re-uploaded some documents. Then they told us the guy that was working on it left the company, and someone should be getting with us soon. When we told the lender what our house was worth, she jacked it up another 50,000 grand(without telling us) to tell us we would be approved and to continue with the process. She should have told us right up front that it wouldn't be worth our time or credit. Our house was only worth 5,000 above what we told her it was worth. From the get go, it was a mess. I regret it all.

  Hi Carol. We only spoke with your spouse during this process, and at no point was value mentioned prior to the appraisal. Legally, the appraisal has to be completed by an independent third-party and we can’t influence the outcome in any way. We’re sorry the house didn’t appraise for what you expected, but we had no way of knowing the value until the appraisal was completed.

  I am extremely please with the professional attention that I received from Meridian. All my questions, explanations, and concerns were handled by the staff at Meridian with patience and expertise. And, to think, I almost did not respond to their letter saying that they could help me with a refinance. Thank you Meridian

  I tried Meridian after starting a refinance with the lender who was servicing our mortgage. They came up with a better rate for us, and we went with them. Everything went smoothly and communication was excellent throughout.

  We did a refi from 30 to 15 years. Great to work with. They listed everything they would need from us right from the beginning and responded very quickly to questions we asked. They kept us up to date both with email and phone calls. Whole process took less than a month, even during the COVID-19 pandemic.

  They came through with their offer, we now have lower monthly payments. They were always quick to respond and provided the information we asked for. The process took a long time (probably 4 months) and involved a lot of paperwork, but I think that is typical and it was worth it in the end. They even allow you to close the loan at your house in the evening after work, which was very convenient. They send an attorney right to your house.

  We have excellent credit, and a near perfect loan history. They sent us a flyer saying all kinds of promises about lowering monthly payments with loan consolidation, but only when you agree to have them pull your credit (and damage your score) do they admit it’s just a glorified equity loan. So if you can’t get what you want through the credit union/bank of your choice due to not enough equity, DON’T go to these guys. Once he found out I wasn’t interested in any of his “backup” loans, he got quite rude and short. Not to mention he was the third different person who supposedly “handled our account” before the loan was even started. And they even left off a crucial bit of information that would have affected the bottom line had we gone forward. Very sloppy research and follow through.. the company doesn’t have a designated loan officer willing to invest and talk to your family, don’t use them. This is a company that uses misleading advertising to get naive people like me to bite and then tries to overwhelm them with numbers and info to get them to make sub-par loans in the company’s interest. He wasn’t happy that I kept cutting him off and telling him to get to the point on what type of loan it was. Don’t make my mistake-lesson learned.

  We are sorry you feel that our offer and service was not what you expected. We do record all of our calls and having listened to it, we don't agree with your assessment of the situation. You do have an excellent credit score and our mail offer was based on your current situation. When we called, you insisted that the appraisal of your house would not exceed a certain amount which was lower than the total amount of the loan offer we were discussing with you. You did not wish to proceed with an appraisal, which we would have paid for at no cost to you, to get to the point where detailed options could be discussed, so you terminated the call. We do not pull any credit before authorization and our inquiry will not affect your score. We also do not do any appraisal of homes before we send our letter; our offer is based purely on your current publicly available financial situation. We are sorry you felt that speaking to different team members with specific expertise was not what you expected, but we have a group here that works together which, as you can see from our other reviews, most people find very helpful. We wish you the best in your refinance efforts.
