The First National Bank in Trinidad Reviews

Ashley Ryan1Pending doesn't mean pending for these people. I saw a pending transaction was going to overdraft me, so I moved money to cover it. These greedy SOBs still charged me an overdraft fee. IT WAS A PENDING TRANSACTION!! Bank somewhere else. I went ahead and looked up the definition for you: A pending transaction of any kind is one that's getting ready to happen. The bank is aware that action has been taken, but the funds have not yet been either withdrawn from your account or added to your account in the case of deposit .

Sally Vanderford1Needed a readout of last 10 transactions in checking to resolve a matter. Drive through told me it would cost 2.50 per transaction. The lady inside the main branch said "Who told you that?!" And gave me a readout for free. Apparently they make up the rules as they please. Pretty fishy.

Katie Z1Terrible! Moved from across the country. We are building a home in the area...but the house isn't finished yet, so I don't have proof of residency. 2 managers refused to even attempt to give me an account with REAL PAPERWORK.. Instead of using my deed...or the address that was given by the city...they wanted to use my AirBnb address...SERIOUSLY!! Walked out...so I can use an address that isn't mine??? Total joke! DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME!

Melissa Carey3The Main branch building is beautiful and charming. Parking is around the back side of the bldg and may be awkward for some. The branch on WalMart is easy access. The branch in Raton is just an ATM machine. If you need personal service and live in Raton, you have to drive to Trinidad.
Response from the ownerHello Melissa, Actually we do have an office that is staffed in Raton, New Mexico. It is located at 1247 S. 2nd Street in the Dona Ana Shopping Center. The First National Loan Production Office can be reached by calling 575-445-7123. Thank you for your inquiry. The First National Bank in Trinidad

Derek1As a whole, this bank is awful. I kind of understand why people hate banks now. Bookkeepers love to charge fees. Online banking has as many problems as successes. Customer service transfers you around like a hot potato. Will be closing my account ASAP. Horrible experiences.
Response from the ownerWe are sorry to hear you are dissatisfied. We strive to offer the best in customer service, quality products, and convenient services. Please contact us during normal business hours so that we may learn more about your experience.

Suzi Zeus1They closed my account during covid 19, because of 1 week zero balance. They also sent my stimulus check, because of closed acct. They really screwed me during covid 19.
Response from the ownerSuzi, I am sorry to hear of your negative experience. Unfortunately, when an account has a zero balance, it automatically closes and future transactions are blocked to prevent fraudulent activity after a customer closes their account. Please accept our apology for the inconvenience and hardship you experienced.
