These folks are the best. In the many years that both my brother and I have been with Telcomm, I've never had 1 banking error, and if there is ever a fee for something, its much less than what a bank would charge. You've heard all the cliches about "bank robbers"... these days, it's the BANKS who do the robbing with shady tricks and outright deceptive practices to hit you with fees. Be assured of that. I'll never use anything but a Credit Union as long as I live, and they're always friendly and polite at Telcomm.

      Response from the owner

THANK YOU SO MUCH JOHN!!! What a wonderful review, we truly appreciate the time you took to leave us this note and look forward to working with you in the future. Thank you for being a member of TelComm CU!

Our association with telcomm began at the 301 So Jefferson.Office in 1955. Home from his Korean conflict years, Wayne rejoined Western Electric and went right back to installing telephone offices and repeater stations. MaryLou was the credit union go to person then, and was the epitome of the excellent service we knew from then to now. They've never failed to help us through the rough spots one encounters over a 65 year period. Of course the changes are constant in adapting to new technology, and learning to adapt as a member can be tricky, too. Some new things can be very puzzling, and it should help to remember that everyone is constantly learning and adapting. I have to categorically state that I have never, repeat never encountered the rudeness and other problems that some of these people claim to have done. 'Nuff said!

      Response from the owner

THANK YOU SO MUCH!! We truly appreciate your kind review Shirley, and I am so glad we have been able to work with you for so many years. What a wonderful story. I will share with our team. We look forward to working with you in the future!

It's hard to get a timely response for my banking needs. So many other banks are super helpful. Everytime you call in you will get mistreated. Not a military friendly establishment. If you are a veteran this is not the place for you.

      Response from the owner

Hi Steven, I am sorry to see you have had a challenging experience. Please contact me directly at [email protected] or call 417.886.5355 and ask for Lori. I want to look into the situation and see how we can correct any issues and/or provide additional training if needed. It certainly is not our intent to mistreat anyone and that is unacceptable. I look forward to hearing from you.

I have had nothing but issues from this bank for the past year. I have called a few different times to speak with their customer relations manager Lori and it doesn't seem to change anything. Once I get the time to change over all my automatic payments I will be closing all accounts.

      Response from the owner

We are researching your account and will be back in touch.

I financed my first car here a little over a year ago. I since traded that in and got a new car and financed a motorcycle through them as well. They were really helpful and mase it super easy. Being a member is nice and has its rewards for sure with this credit union. Thank you guys so much

      Response from the owner

Thank you so much Darwin for the kind words! So glad we could help you out and we look forward to working with you down the road - happy holidays!

This is by far the worst credit union we've done business with! We opened our account there over 8 years ago. We were both in our 50's and attending MSU. We started with a $300 line of credit. Paid that off and never late. As we were rebuilding our credit to move and buy a house, which we did in 2016, we took out a consolidation loan for $2,500. For the past 6 years my credit score has never been less that 725. For the last 2 of those years it's never been under 740 AND we've been able to get more than $180K in credit. TCU has always refused a line of credit increase! We've had NO late payment history and our credit is excellent! This week we're closing about 12 credit sources we've successfully used to build our credit to where it is now. Telcom who did nothing to help that growth now won't let us close our account until the less than $350 is paid first, AND if we want to pay over the phone, it's an additional $10! We've lived out of state these past 5 years. This is crazy! EVERY other creditor we've had is happy to close our account and send us the letter of balance so that when we refinance our home, the balance will be paid by through the mortgage. We've always been current with our payments and this months bill isn't due until the last week of the month. So if you're looking to build credit, look elsewhere. Telcom could care less about you building your credit.

Great rates. Great people. Great for our community. This time of year, I'm particularly thankful for my low interest TelComm credit card that gets a lot of use for online gift purchases. I highly recommend TelComm to anyone who wants their financial institution to treat them like people, not numbers.

      Response from the owner

Thank you so much Angela for your kind words! I'll pass them along to our team. Stay well!

TelComm is very out of date when it comes to pretty much everything they do. Everything from their website, to making payments, to receiving communications from them is archaic. Their website looks and feels like it was created in the 90's. The user experience is very poor, and it makes things that should be simple (tasks like making a payment or just checking your balance) an exercise in patience. Making payments is also a major pain. You cannot make credit card or any other loan payments on their website if you're using anything other than their bank account. If you have a checking account from another institution, you cannot make a payment on their website. Instead, you have to call them and make your payment over the phone. This also means no automatic payments from outside sources. Not only that, but they will charge you $10 for every loan you make a payment on (ex: $20 for a credit card and car loan payment) even if you make them both at the same time. To avoid the extra fees, you literally have to drive up and write them a check. Like I said, straight out of the 90's. With the complete lack of organization or technology of any kind, this also means their communications to you with important and often time sensitive account information suffers. Imagine getting a letter in the mail saying you have 30 days to respond, only to call them in 2 days and have them explain that they sent that letter 35 days ago. This exact thing happened to me, and my car payment went up permanently because of it. They do have lower interest rates for their loans than a lot of banks, but I promise you will end up getting what you pay for in the end. If you need Find someplace better, dont make my mistake.

      Response from the owner

Hi Aust, I am sorry to learn you are unsatisfied with your experience with TCU regarding loan payment from another financial institution. We have a specific section under the heading of Loan Payments on our website which shows several different ways to make a loan payments without incurring a convenience fee if paying from another institution. It is possible to make loan payments online as well as many other methods listed below. Make Loan Payments for Free There are two ways to make free loan payments with TCU. Set up automated payments from your TCU checking or savings account Set up recurring payments from another financial institution (known as ACH payments). What you will need: Your checking/savings account number Your financial institution’s routing number Please note these payments can take a few business days to clear, so be sure to schedule your payment ahead of your due date to avoid late fees. To set up recurring ACH payments, contact TCU or click here to complete the request form. How can I avoid the fees? Make TelComm CU your primary financial institution and you can conveniently transfer funds online from your checking or savings account to your loan payment! Drop off a check (or cash) in the night deposit box at any TelComm CU location for your loan payment noting on the envelope your account information and which loan the payment is going toward. Direct deposit your entire paycheck or a portion of your paycheck via payroll deduction to TelComm CU to pay your loan when you payment is due. Postal mail a check for your TCU loan payment to any TelComm location with notes indicating how you want the funds distributed– to which loans and accounts. If TCU is not your primary financial institution, use your primary financial institution’s online bill payment service to automatically send your loan payment to TelComm CU. Keep sufficient funds in your TCU savings account at all times so you are able to transfer a loan payment from your TCU savings account anytime online or by using our mobile app. Loan coupons are available from TCU so you have a monthly reminder in your calendar/wallet/briefcase to mail or drop off a payment. Ask any Member Service Representative to set your account up on AutoPay and your loan payment will be automatically withdrawn every month from the TelComm CU account you choose. As you indicate the payment went up permanently on your loan, we would like to discuss the details of this situation with you further by phone in order to properly research and address your concerns. Please contact me directly at 417.886.5355 and ask for Lori Johnson Murawski. I look forward to hearing from you soon.
