TBA Credit Union Reviews

James Thomas III5For 16 years TBACU has been my trusted bank and I wouldn't want it any other way. Anyone who says their customer service is anything other than stellar is an extreme minority, as every single interaction I've had with them has been nothing but pleasant and genuine. I make sure to share with their delightful tellers how much I appreciate their work as much as I can, as it never fails to be a bright spot in my day!
Response from the ownerHello James- Thank you so much for the kind review. I will be sure to pass your words along to our representatives. :)

James Palmer1Went to TBA today to open an Estate Account for my deceased Father in law who died in Tennessee and therefor had his estate processed by a court in Tennessee. Gave them all of the court orders, documentation, death certificate etc and they went ahead and opened an estate bank account and deposited the check I had from Verizon made out to his estate. Several hours later I get a call that their attorney reviewed the Tennessee probate court's standard estate paperwork and has an issue that it doesn't specifically say I have the right to open a bank account for his estate. It states that I am authorized "to do and transact all the duties in relation to said Estate"... I bank with TBA looking for the common sense that the big banks no longer seem to have. And especially when you're dealing with a family member's death! Now they say they have closed the account and will send me back the check. Doesn't the fact that they already opened the account and I have receipts and documentation of that mean anything? They can just close it back down without my consent? Maybe their legal department should be reviewing this instead of analyzing paperwork from a standard state approved court document.
Response from the ownerJames- I am so sorry for your loss and your recent experience with us. Please contact me at 231.932.5056 or at [email protected]. -Christie D, COO

Bob the Baker5People bank at "Banks" Cause they want the big name and cooperation, what they don't realize is most banks don't know you, think about you, or even care. Credit unions do! and TBA is the model example of it, they know their members and they care, less fees, more service, better employees, and just an overall better experience. TBA RULES!
Response from the ownerHello Bob- Thank you so much for the kind review. We are very lucky to have such amazing members like you. :)

Steven Bry5I've been rolling with TBA for five months so far. Everyone I've spoken with was very polite and efficient. On-boarding was a quick and painless. There's no form to fill out for withdrawals/deposits, just walk up to the teller and tell 'em what you want.
Response from the ownerHello Steven- Thank you for leaving such a kind review.

Annalisa Wiesner5I'm always greeted warmly, and everyone is so helpful that it's easy to enjoy stopping by. They even caught and notified me RIGHT away when my account was hacked and I didn't even notice. TBACU is a great resource and example of community, too; they put on free workshops and events, have a scholarship program, and have a program that encourages kids and teens to save money. I have been a member for about 8 years and I only have a good things to say about TBACU.
Response from the ownerAnnalisa, Thank you for putting your trust in us and for the kind words! We are so proud to live out our mission of serving the community and building trusted relationships. Thanks again for the review!

Benjamin Berry1Horrible customer service. Brittany actually raised her voice to me while on the phone working out some insurance issues that I had with a camper I financed through them. Eventually, I had to insist she stop berating me. I am paying off this loan today and telling everyone my awful experience. They need to realize they need customers, not the other way around.
Response from the ownerBenjamin, I want to thank you for your feedback, and apologize for your unsatisfactory experience at TBACU. We would like to discuss this with you further privately. Please contact Kerry at 231-932-5043 or Andrea at 231-932-5058. You can also email [email protected] or [email protected].

Josh Lawrence1The customer service of this place is absolutely atrocious. Avoid doing business with this credit union. I called them to find out why they pulled my credit report without authorization and was treated absolutely horrible by Linda Lewis. I have reported this credit union to the FTC for fraudulently pulling credit reports. AVOID THIS CREDIT UNION
Response from the ownerHello Josh- Thank you for taking the time to review us. I am very sorry for your experience. It is not TBA Credit Unions practice to pull a credit report without a permissible purpose, and we would like to discuss this further. Please contact our Chief Lending Officer, Chris, at 231.946.7090 or [email protected]. Thank you.
