Dylan Cozart2DO NOT EVER US THIS COMPANY FOR AUTO LOANS!!!! I have used BECU, ford, and now tapco for auto loans. I have had this auto loan since December. Every month has been nothing but issues. If you like to make your payments manually every month to keep track of your bills to be financially responsible, they punish you for that by adding a $15.00 charge even if your payment is early. All my other loans have been easy I can just transfer money to my account on my own and make my payments with no added fees. My family into money issues early in January and lost my auto insurance. I was sent a letter saying they would add more to the amount of my loan if I don’t get back on insurance. I got my insurance back and spoke to their representative to verify everything was okay. They informed me my account was all good and won’t see any extra money added to my loan. But here we are a new month and a new issue. Received a letter today informing me they will be adding 3,000 to my loan because I lost my insurance. I can not believe this company has been around since 1934 and they are this difficult. The only reason I am giving them two stars is because every employee I have had to deal with has been positive and helpful. Apparently some of them are not getting trained properly or giving customers the correct information. Unfortunately I am stuck dealing with this but hopefully I can help others from not having to deal with this headache.

Ivy Black1I have been a customer for 37 years and overall I'm satisfied. However this past holiday weekend some major issues occurred. I went to buy groceries and my debit card was declined which is strange because I know I have money in my account so I try my credit card and again declined which again is impossible because my payments are up-to-date. After leaving with no groceries for my family, I go to a tapco ATM only to find that they are all down. I call customer service the next day and am told they are having technical difficulties", are not sure when it will be completed, and they are "sorry for the inconvenience". Inconvenience? I didn't realize not being able to feed my family was just an inconvenience. This is beyond unacceptable and I will actually consider taking my business elsewhere. Monday night and still not fixed!!

Mike Boyd1I would not bank with this bank period, it has nothing but problems when it comes to their system. I don't know why but it seems like the holidays screw it all up but they always seem to be either getting hacked or having some sort of system failure on their end. I currently cannot check my account online, at an ATM or call them, the one time I got a hold of someone before the phone lines are all disconnected, the lady there to me they didn't even know what was wrong. All in all as soon as something is back online I'm getting all my money out and switching banks I'm over it

Tapco credit union is beyond unprofessional I’m not sure if it is because they are located in the ghetto or not but there customer service leaves much to be desired not to mention the constant letters in the mail threatening to raise ur rates for not updating ur address even tho they r sending the letters to u directly. Consistent letters to buy there insurance and so on (pure junk mail) definitely looking to get out of my car or refinance to another credit union

Ashley Fleming1My husband and I got an auto loan through tapco 2 1/2 years ago. Since day one it has been nothing but a headache. I used to pay in person until we moved back home to VA when my husband got out of the military and now they charge a $15 convenience fee to pay online or by phone. They offered for me to pay in person...yeah let me just travel 3000 miles to do that. Now they added an extra fee for lapse of insurance, I have sent proof 3 times they finally removed the fee. Now two months after removing the fee they claim they never received it and need it again. I would not send my worst enemy to them. There have been so many more problems but those are the most recent ones. I hate this bank and their terrible customer service.

Rich Furman5Tapco is a great community bank. I love that when I come in I am known, and if I have a problem with something, they take the time to help me figure out my fiscal needs. It is a small bank, and expecting the same level of technology as as large corporation is silly. Nobody should only bank with one institution, and this is the prefect local bank for me.

Chris Karnes5Tapco's customer service is outstanding. I have called the service line and had someone pick up in 10 seconds flat. They have an online chat feature that got me an answer to my questions in one minute. I am so glad to have my money here. Just a pleasure.

Bob D1I have banked with Tapco 20+ years and have to admit, most of these 1 star reviews are correct. Sadly I have tried to really love tapco over the years but they are stingy, expensive, and really stuck on themselves. The other real bummer is they have 5 locations, period. Unless you want to route money through another bank you better live inside of Tacoma or you gotta drive ahead of you. Fortunately they have shared branching which has turned me on to a much more customer service oriented credit union. I now use them for the large majority of my banking and Tapco as plan "B". One day they may wake up to all of this and actually start serving the community again. If not they will go the way of the dinosaur.
