  I started looking for mortgages after I found out I matched into a residency program in a new state, and I am so glad I went with Sun Trust's doctor loan program! This was my first time buying a home, and Rich and his team went above and beyond for me every step of the way. SunTrust is one of the few doctor mortgage programs that works with medical students who have matched into a residency position, and they gave me a lot of provisions that made it possible for me to qualify for a home. For example, they used my residency salary instead of my medical school income to calculate my budget, which gave me a lot more flexibility in terms of financing. Additionally, they do not consider loans that are in deferment while calculating your debt to income ratio, and are much more flexible about allowing gifts from family to count toward your down payment. Once I found a property to purchase, Rich and his team worked hard to help me close ahead of schedule. This gave me time to complete renovations prior to the start of my intern year, which was very important to me. Despite being incredibly busy with requests after match day, Rich was available to answer my questions over email and was there to guide me through the process. As with any mortgage application, a few bumps came up along the way, but Rich always informed me every time he found out about something that could potentially cause a delay in closing, and then helped me find solutions to those problems. This was greatly appreciated not only for my peace of mind, but also because I was able to close on a great condo close to work in an extremely competitive seller's market. I am extremely grateful for all of the work Rich and everyone at SunTrust did to make my dream of home ownership a reality! They pushed very hard to help me close ahead of schedule, as evidenced by the emails I received from their team at both very late and very early hours. I felt like they were very much on my side during this process, and would definitely work with them again in the future.

  We just finished the process of purchasing our first home and we couldn’t have done it without Richard Ricci, Karah and their whole team at SunTrust! Rich was extremely on top of everything and always very calming through the whole process. Due to being in different states there was a 3 hour difference but he made sure that didn’t impact or slow down the process. We had a super quick and seamless close. Would highly recommend any physician to contact him for a home loan!
