If you work 9-5 this is not the bank for you. They do not have a 24 hour bank. If something is wrong with your card past 5 o’clock pm you have to wait to the next morning to fix it. I was trying to buy food for my kids it would not let me. And also I could not log into my account because they kept saying the password is wrong. I would not recommend them to anyone.

      Response from the owner

Customer Service was good up until they made a mistake. I had several services that I was using with Summit Credit Union and referred many relatives to this branch. I even stopped using my bank account with USAA because I thought business was better local. The first issue I had with them was a teller making a mistake and blaming me for giving me an additional $100. I attempted to dispute this knowing before I left the branch i counted the money out and placed in seperate envelopes for my kids. They never sent me a letter they never contacted me to discuss this issue they just threw my account in the negatives and waited for me to call them. By the time I seen the issue my account was closed and they were reporting $97 to the credit bureau. Most recently I made payment arrangements with a collection agency to clear a balance from a Visa I had in 2016. The account was closed and sold to several agencies and they contacted me to make payment arrangements. I was promised a window to make a settlement with the collection agency. By the time my money arrived Summit Credit union purchased the account back and will not work with me. I am out of work and on social security and still trying to work to pay this debt off and they are not wanting to work with me. I would not recommend this credit union to anyone. Before I went to them I had growing credit and did not have the amount of issues I am still dealing with. Instead of working with me they prefer to update my credit report so that this follows me versus settling to atleast take my last bit of money.

Love my credit union. Everyone is wonderful. Most people who have bad experiences with banks have not been taught how to manage money. You have to be diligent and it's free to check your account every day. Keep up with your receipts, and balance your check register immediately after making a purchase, it only takes a few minutes after you get home. God continue to bless the wonderful employees at Summit Credit Union and give their customers wisdom and patience for there is only One without fault, You Jesus, and it is in Your name I pray. Amen.

I never post reviews and have been with this bank over 5 years. The customer service has become horrible. The loan supervisor is rude. I have also contacted BBB. My family also banks here and have experience horrible service. We can definitely tell when the Branch Manager Debbie Giles is not in office. Over the past 6 months this bank has gone down. Horrible and needs to be looked into. We are planning to move to another credit union. Very Unhappy

      Response from the owner

Allowed unauthorized Cash App withdrawals from my account, then blamed me for someone's actions of accessing my account. Never again. Done with them.

I have had multiple issues with this credit Union. One of the issues being you cannot call on the weekends if your card is declined or if you have a problem with your card. Also my issue is that they do not notify you on the weekends if anything is happened to your card. My card has been declined multiple times without warning me. I've decide to switch credit unions because of this issue on more than one occasion I have not been able to get help until Monday. A lot of banks are now starting to do the weekends and 24 hour services and they should go along with those banks

      Response from the owner

I apologize for any inconvenience that you’ve experience while using your Summit Credit Union card account. I understand how frustrating it can be when something does not work as expected and you cannot get immediate help. You are correct that Summit Credit Union does not have a non-business-hours call center for general member services. We currently dedicate around-the-clock card services to lost or stolen cards and fraud monitoring for all of our card programs. Should any suspicious charges occur with your Summit Credit Union card, you will be promptly notified by a call or text message to your primary phone number on file with us. Summit Credit Union does implement strategic tactics in an effort to protect cardholders from fraud. These may occasionally result in the delay or failure of a valid transaction. One suggestion is to notify our Card Services Department in advance of any transactions that are unusually large or with a merchant located out of the country. In such cases, an exclusion can be placed on your account so that our fraud-monitoring services do not suspend activity on your account. Please give our Card Services a call and let us help make your obviously frustrating experience with us less troublesome.

Wife and I have been members since ‘13. We’ve only had good experiences, but do your homework and be aware some obvious drawbacks to banking at a local credit union vs national chains (most obviously lack of ATM locations). Try to come before or after the lunch rush and you should be fine 👍

      Response from the owner

Hello Sam, I'm sorry to hear you haven't been informed more about our large ATM network. We are actually part of the largest ATM network in the country, Allpoint, which has over 50,000 ATMs nationwide and several located in other countries. We also have a partnership with Cashpoints located throughout North Carolina. If you need the convenience of a branch, our partnership with CO-OP Shared Branches allows you to use a network of Credit Unions to make deposits, withdrawals, payments, and more. Learn more about our locations and ATMs at https://www.summitcu.org/locations.

Not such a good bank after all. I had fraud on my account two years ago instead of them running the correct procedures they are forcing me to pay back the money and also threatened to call the police. Here it is two years later and I am still having to pay off for a situation I had no control over.
