  As stated on my first review for Stephanie Santoro years back, I am not someone that writes reviews however as someone that relies on these to make an informed decision I feel its only right to do so to help guide other people to get things right the first time instead of getting the run around during critical, life changing moments when the last thing you need is unnecessary stress. Stephanie and her team are true professionals with patience not comparable to any business transactions ive ever encountered. Stephanie and her team supported me years back with a seamless and surprisingly stress free purchase of my first home while juggling multiple priorities such as marriage planning and a baby coming exactly 3 months after closing. Over 4 years later, I was NOT surprised to see the same consistent, individualized support and remarkably responsive customer service that I received back then while pursuing a refinance. I havent had much experience with other companies but am happy to say that I have no interest or need to explore as Stephanie is a one stop shop with a team of individuals that mirror her responsiveness, care, and work ethic.   Stephanie Santoro was my loan officer from Mid-Island Mortgage Corp. I have never met anyone with so much passion and dedication to help others in making their dreams come true. I was born and raised in the South Bronx. Growing up in my neighborhood. The thought of becoming a home owner was not something we could relate to. We didn't have any examples in my family of home ownership. My wife Cynthia had a similar experience and also grew up in the Bronx. When Cynthia and I got married, I promised her that one day I was going to buy us a home for our family. Like many husbands, I made a promise not knowing if I could deliver that promise. Around 2 years ago, I started working on a plan on how to make good on my promise for our family. I met with Ruth Pena the Director of the Housing Program at District Council 37. She put me on a plan to get things going. On November 2018 I met Stephanie and the first words that I said to her (I am going to be the most interesting client you have ever had). My reason for that comment was because of my story. I remember just talking with her and her asking me a few questions. Next thing you know, Stephanie looks at me and said you are pre-approved. I was not able to speak. I was taken over by so many emotions at that moment. I was happy and scared at the same time. I called my wife and shared the great news. Then we started looking at homes. We put a few offers in and always something went wrong. During this time Stephanie held our hand and talked to us almost every day. She kept us focused on our goal of buying a home. We finally found a great home and put an offer in and the sellers accepted. We blinked our eyes and next thing you know we had a closing date set. We closed on our home on March 28, 2019. I am so grateful to Stephanie and Mid-Island for helping not just me but our family in making our dream of becoming homeowners a reality. It was not easy. Many nights Cynthia and I went to bed not knowing if we could do this. But every time we said the same thing, we have Stephanie on our side we can do this. Stephanie we thank you and we are honored to call you our friend. You treated us like family. I think that is one of the many reasons you are so amazing at your job.

  Working with Stephanie was a pleasure. I’m the second member of my family to work with her to buy a new home and probably won’t be the last. She’s very good at what she does she always makes herself accessible for questions and makes the process of buying a home very easy.   Steph was absolutely phenomenal! We purchased our home December 2017 after jumping through hoops and over hurdles (the seller’s issue, not at all to do with our team) and Steph basically held our hand through the entire process and made it as painless and easy as possible. She was always available, went above and beyond for us, and made sure we always understood every and any thing before signing anything or moving forward. Two years later she still answers all of our calls, texts, and emails regardless of how silly or small and if it’s something she can’t directly help with she sends us in the right direction and makes sure we have the tools we need to get it done. I cannot sing her praises enough, she is amazing! Buying a house comes with so much paperwork and so many numbers and words that will make the average person’s head spin, but Steph makes sure you’re comfortable and informed and makes it as easy a process as it can be.
