State Employees’ Credit Union Reviews

Brittney1I’m disappointed with this location. If you have anything less than perfect credit, expect to get denied for pretty much any loan big or small. The branch in Greenville was understanding of my credit issues. They discussed with me what I could do to improve my credit and approved me for multiple loans that I payed back on time. I have 2 car loans that were paid back on time; never late. I’ve never been late with any loan with them. So after moving to Raleigh, I go into this location expecting the same treatment and was denied. According to Crystal, the loan officer, their standards for approving applications is well above the Greenville location. That’s interesting because this IS the SAME credit union, am I right??? Crystal is your typical smug, condescending loan officer. If you’re a person of color, expect to be discriminated against. So again, if you’re black and don’t have an 800 credit score or above stay FAR, FAR away from Crystal. Or this location for that matter.

Rachel Dunn5Everyone we've encountered at this branch have been friendly. Justin Lancaster has helped us several times and is always knowledgeable, helpful, and patient. He goes out of his way to provide information thoroughly in a manner that is understandable and not patronizing. I appreciate this, since I was trying to navigate a process I haven't done before.

David Johnson1Very Ghetto!!! The FSR Ashley Campbell is the rudest steer clear of her , she must hate her job. I merely asked for an extension on my loan and she proceeds to tell me with an attitude " It's Not our fault you can't pay your loan back" . This is very poor customer service . I will NOT be doing business at this location anymore!

Jack P5I was helped by Jonathan and Linwood, they were both excellent! I needed help with one of accounts and they answered all my questions and were very respectful. The employees at this branch were nice to everyone they came in contact with!

Juan Chavira1For starters they told me one thing that I was approved to bring certain documentation in which I did and then came back and told me that they were denying me after I was told I was approved they offer nothing here at all secured credit cards or anything make you waste your time I would give them no stars but unfortunately that's not an option they are garbage
