  Spirit of Alaska is the best bank I have found for financing real estate. I have researched most of the national and local banks and spirit was by far the best. From their terms to their service, everything I have experienced has been top notch. They have competitive financing terms tailor fit for my situation and I always have a single point of contact through out the whole process. I was able to contact Rachel, Dan and Ariel by phone or email anytime I had a question. Dan worked on my file over the holidays and made sure my application was done correctly and sent over to the right people. Rachel handled every detail of the transaction from start to finish and would update me every step of the way. Ariel handled all of my in person visits and personally directed me to the departments I needed for setting up my accounts and signing documents. I couldn’t be happier with the whole team over at Spirit and I’m really looking forward to working with them again in the future!

  2020 has been a nightmare for all of us!!!! When everything got bad we went to see John Wallingford at the bank and he helped us out tremendously. He and the rest of the staff we have dealt with have been compassionate and understanding during what could have easily been a destructive time in our lives. Finding the “human” factor in a bank is difficult at times but they nailed it at Spirit. Thank you so much guys for helping us keep it all together when things could have easily fallen apart.

  Absolutely love this credit union! The staff is always so friendly & so helpful. They do a great job servicing our loans & have been extremely helpful when needing to make vehicle purchases, etc. out of town. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!

  I've been happy with the service here, they helped me with a mortgage and several car loans. The online banking works fine, the access to my statements and documents is all online, which is great when I need to find something.

  Wow! The new SOA password change is seamless and swift! Love it. Also, really enjoying the new website page layout. Bigger, less wordy, shows the main figures you want to see prominent.

  Very unprofessional. We applied for a mortgage with them and never heard back, and when we called to follow up the manager was rude and basically yelled at me. I would like more professional people at the bank.

  Literally the worst bank I’ve ever had. Rude and unhelpful staff members combined with terrible hours of operation. The online portal for accounts is simply a nightmare to use. Do yourself, your friends, and your family a favor and pick any other bank in the state.
