  My wife and I recently closed on a new home with the help of Lisa Reed and Zoe Lopez with Southwest Mortgage. They were very helpful, knowledgeable, and on top of everything that needed to be done during the process. Buying a home is in itself a very stressful process, having a lender that you can trust will take care of you during the process and even after is very important. We knew from the beginning that Lisa would be that person, and she did not disappoint. 10/10 I would recommend Southwest Mortgage and Lisa Reeds team to anyone looking to purchase a home.   I highly recommend Southwest Mortgage in Durango. Lisa Reed and Autumn Hull are professional, courteous and make the loan process of buying a home seamless! I so appreciate their help and expertise. They took the stress out of buying my retirement home. It was easy to build a report with them as they are both down to earth, no frills ladies.   5 stars and 4 thumbs up for my wife and I. Lisa and Errin went above and beyond in helping us with a VA loan for a first time home purchase. There we're a number of challenges with the home type, location and my schedule that they worked through persistently, and to success. I had a lot of questions through the process, and they tirelessly dealt with all of them.

  Lisa and Erin have always been extremely supportive of my wife and I as we searched for homes in the Durango area and even as we made a move to the town of Silverton. They have stuck by us even as many of the houses we attempted to purchase slipped out of our price range or otherwise didn't work out. I would recommend Southwest Mortgage to anyone looking to purchase a home in this area.

  Worst experience working with a business of any sort; cost us thousands of dollars. Led us on for months telling us they were getting us a loan that we later found out we never would have qualified for; joke's on us for trusting them. Worst part was they ran out the clock so we had no choice but to go through them for a much worse FHA loan at a much higher interest rate that cost $600 more per month than we had budgeted for just so we wouldn't lose the house we had gotten built. I know mortgages are tricky, but there was zero transparency or honesty. Unfortunately there isn't much regulation requiring mortgage brokers to be honest or adhere to any fiduciary obligation, so now we know to shop around more and get a 2nd opinion when dealing with transactions such as this. Avoid at all costs.

We wish we could have a say when it comes to government loan guidelines, but unfortunately, we must follow the government's final decision for their programs.
