Bank of the San Juans Reviews

Ron Cornelius1Very poor customer support. Haven’t been able to get online to my account in over a week. Their support people are totally confused as their system works different from different web sites, apps and browsers and changes all the time. Last person insisted that I must see yellow flowers on my screen image. Not my image or the bird that appeared, lol.

Cara Kuefler5This bank is amazing. They always go above and beyond for their customers. No hidden fees that sneak up on you and I get to talk to a real local person when I call them. The gifts for opening an account are awesome and the staff at all the locations are nice and helpful. 100% recommend this bank.

Metalman881They charged me extra fees that should have been charged and only fixed one of them, and when I called them and left four messages I never got a call back..

B&N Corporation No Last Name1Illiterate workers, I do not understand how they are generally hired to work, to a bank where people entrust their money, personal data and information. You can get 5 different answers from the same bank, and none of them will be right. My advise you not to deal with them at all.

Rachel Sutton5I have been a HAPPY CUSTOMER for years! And every time I call with a problem ( alot lately unfortunately) the customer service and phone experience is above my expectations. I want to say thank you to all of the employees there!!!! You guys rock!!! Please go in and check out what this small town bank is all about. If you open an account I am sure you will be happy.

Dan Rippe5I ordered some tools online, $131.00 dollars worth, but instead received masks. The sight turned out be a scam. Bank Of the San Juans bit the bullet for me and refunded my money even though they lost the dispute. I highly recommend this bank.

BPX Durango Inc5This bank is awesome. They have great customer service and when my husband and I started building our off-grid home, BSJ gave us a LOC with no hassle and sent us on our way. No problems. I love this bank for the simple bank statements. I ALWAYS recommend this bank to my clients and I have many, many clients asking about banking every day. GO BSJ!!

Taylor Packer1I will never do business here again, I’ve had an account with them for a little over a year and this place is a nightmare to deal with. I can never just go on about my day to day life without worrying about my account or money situation. There is always something wrong with my card or account and I have to call once a week roughly to see what’s going on. I’m a trucker and I’ve mentioned it time and time again to them that I travel and not to lock my card out. I don’t have time to be sitting around on the phone with them while I’m trying to buy fuel or other misc items for the truck. If you are a traveler my advice to you is to not do business here

John Eskew1Happy customer since 2009, until recently that is. Customer service at downtown branch gets a D- My last few visits there I leave feeling like I’ve inconvenienced the staff somehow. One recent visit I went in to request a stop payment only to have the teller interrogate me as to my reasoning, right in front of other customers. Another complaint is that a few weeks ago I calmed about and then visited North bank branch trying to gain a small business line of credit. Long story short-loan officer showed little to no interest in helping out. No follow up calls, etc. Ended up going online for a small business line of credit. Online companies gain, Bank of the San Juan’s loss! Closing my accounts and moving on when the time is right. Too bad...

David Rosenthal1Cool logo and typography but zero customer service. We intended to switch our primary checking and a savings account from Chase to a local bank in Durango. Three times we tried to go in to get debit cards since we were in the process of purchasing a home and had the account info sent to our Texas address. Three times we were blown off. If these folks can't even take care of their new customers it sets a tone of how important customer service is. There is no app that remotely competes with national banks e.g. Chase, Citi, Capital One, HSBC etc. And the customer service is no where near what you'd expect from these banks or even small FCUs. So at the end of the day you're buying a logo and allegiance to a bank that isn't even locally owned. Alpine is a better option and actually has a functional app, and a new customer team that values people who want to give them money.
