      DO NOT BANK WITH THESE PEOPLE! They DO NOT care about their customers at all. They'll make thousands of dollar mistakes and brush it off its nothing. Was told they can't promise me that they won't make thousands of dollar mistakes again. HOW DO YOU EXPECT ME TO KEEP MY MONEY HERE IF I CAN'T EVEN TRUST THEM! WORST BANK EVER!

      I love this bank! I've done business with them for almost 10 years. I love that when we go in the Winder and Athens branches they know myself and my son on a first name basis, not just one employee but several. They always go out of their way to help with anything I have questions or concerns about. Wes at the corporate office is extremely service oriented and always helpful, and Gloria at the Athens location is fantastic, always happy to help at any moment.

      inept, slow service. Their debit cards always have chip problems and it takes 2-3 weeks to get another one, things that should be able to be done online like other banks they make you come to a branch for, simple issues take forever to get resolved. They're in the dark ages of bank operations

      The Augusta branch issued a business check to us and inexplicably put our customer's name on the check along with our business name. Ofcourse our bank would not deposit the check as he is not on our account. The mistake was clearly in South State bank. The check was for more than $15,000 so we needed this to be rectified. But, South State told us it would take 90 days to issue another check. This is a real bank! They loaned this person money, and then wrote us the check and put his name on it. 4 days later and no conclusion. This bank operates like a mom and pop store.

      **DO NOT RECOMMEND** I banked here for roughly 4 years prior to getting married and the bank was great, never had a problem. When I got married my wife and I relocated. there wasn't a bank close by. I went to the Canton branch to close out my account to which we decided to leave it open due to getting paid that Friday and not knowing if my check would deposit in my new bank or this bank. After we noticed that it would deposit into my new bank, I called back and told them to close my account. they stated it was complete. Down the road I had an automatic payment come out and it was charged to my old bank by accident. You would think with a closed account that it would bounce back, but that didn't happen because they NEVER CLOSED MY ACCOUNT. The ONLY reason why I found out about this was due to purchasing a home and this appearing that I owed them $153 for THEIR mistake. Anyways, I spoke with the bank and all of this was going to be taken care of. My mistake was that I didn't get it in writing. This was roughly 2 years ago. Well, I went to go get a car loan from a credit union yesterday and they couldn't work with me due to an "outstanding balance" to South State Bank. I called the Support Team and they stated they couldn't pull all of the details due to it being over two years ago. Then they had me call the Manager at the branch, who didn't answer. Once I got in touch with her, she stated it could take up to 5 days before I get a response on this issue. Apparently they couldn't call, they can only email. I called the Customer Service back and I asked who could assist me resolve this because I have a dealership waiting on a check from me. She advised that I send an email to their credit dispute, so I did and they emailed back stating that it could take 15-30 business days! What in the world! I called back, AGAIN, and asked to speak to someone from their and they stated that they don't take calls, HORRIBLE business move on their part. Anyways, the lady was able to help me more than the 6 other people I spoke with and she stated that the account was never closed and that I was charged (information listed above). They said it would take 3-5 days until I heard something back. This is totally unacceptable and frankly insane. They clearly have never heard of a SOX audit. Information should be held for 7 years, just in case you need a reminder South State Bank. They are trying to make me pay an amount and don't have any facts to back it up. It's sad that I have more information than they do. Poor customer service, poor business model, and a desperate need for money. If they attempt to make me pay this fine, they will be hearing from my lawyer. They made the mistake, not me.

      Always have had great customer service there. Everytime I walk in the door I'm greeted with a friendly hello. They never try to push offers and loans on me when I walk in the door like other Banks. And the no charge checking or savings account can't be beat. Thanks South State Bank

      Very slow service, been banking with community and now south state since 2007 and never had issues only to be questioned when I deposited a check from someone for a larger sum, told it was because of fraud. Complete bs just to hassle me. Went to a different branch and had no issues. Highly recommend avoiding this branch.

      Went to the this bank to deposit money on weekdays and noticed all reps has nothing to do and just talking to each other which looks like they have extra reps. Now i went on the weekends and gosh short handed! 1 for consultant and 2 in the teller! Really! They should put more on the weekend rather than weekdays! Waited 30 minutes or so just to talk to the rep. They need to do better scheduling!

      The wait times at South State drive thru in Winder,Ga. is awful. I have currently been sitting in line for 20 minutes. I understand with the virus and all going on,that things have changed, but this is ridiculious. I enjoy banking with South State, , but not having to wait in lines this long to complete a tranaction. Maybe need more tellers.

      I started banking here when it was called community bank and trust many many years ago. I never had one complaint up until about a year ago. Now I have nothing but complaints. Worse bank ever!
