  We transitioned from a big corporate bank to SouthStar. It was refreshing to have staff so apologetic in fear that their opening of our accounts was taking too long. Then to have the branch manager literally sit on the floor beside us as we tended to littles amidst paperwork. And let's not forget the monthly breakfast to support our local heros. It's one thing to desire to support local, it's another to literally be treated like family. Thank you Randi and Kathryn for the experience you and your team gave and continue to give! We are grateful to call you our bank!

  Everyone here is super friendly and very responsive. I was grateful to find these folks because they were one of the few institutions managing the PPP program. While there have been a lot of complaints about the SBA application process (and rightly so) the staff here, with a particular shout out to Adriana Alvara of the Business Development dept. stuck with me through the thick of it and helped me over every technical hurdle beyond her control. She was patient and helpful in a very stressful period. She is an asset to their staff, and I am thankful for everyone I have associated at South Star Bank, and truly appreciate their sense of small-town friendliness.

  Afton and the staff at the Leander branch are absolutely incredible. They are always smiling, helpful, and embody the way banking used to be at other banks, but at Southstar Bank, that's how they still treat customers. It truly is your neighborhood bank.

  Best place that I have Banked. Extremely efficient and competent people even with a ppp loan. I will never leave for another poor service credit union. A Plus attitudes and flawless service.

  Mick Donohoe made financing a new home a very positive experience. We had some complicated circumstances that Mick helped us through with pure professionalism. He made me feel like we were his only customers. He was always available to answer questions and help figure out problems. I will strongly recommend him to anyone needing financing.

  We have checking and savings accounts here, but not a mortgage. The interest rate is better than the last small-town credit union we had, but the service is phenomenal. There are real people there servicing our account using real human reasoning, and when we call to talk to them, we don’t have to “press one to speak to a live person”. We’ll be staying for a while!

  SouthStar, specifically Alexis Paulsen Michael, Pamela Wallis Barbeau & Amanda Aaron, have been absolutely wonderful throughout this entire process of the PPP application. They were amazing, honest, and up to date with all of the most recent information coming in, and they were relaying it all to me. I have no idea what I would have done without them. I highly recommend them to any small business owner!
