Zach Phillips1The floor staff is very professional and friendly as are the over-the-phone customer service representatives… when you can actually get a hold of one! Upper management really needs to spend some money on more customer service representatives. Wait times are egregious no matter what time you call and sometimes the department you are directed to doesn’t even pick up! I was at the Tag Office trying to register my car and needed to get a hold of the Auto Loan department to have them fax over a copy of my title. After having my call directed to this department by the initial representative I ended up waiting on hold for 30+ mins only to have the automated system hang up on me. Good thing I don’t have a job or anything and enjoy spending all day at the Tag Office. Until customer service becomes more reliable I would not recommend SC Federal to a friend. Rome wasn’t built in a day but a good first step would be to offer a callback instead of having customers wait on hold forever.

Zack McElveen1If I could give negative stairs I would. I deposited a CASHIERS check from Bank of America in there ATM on Saturday 1/5, I was given no warning that would be holding the whole check. They released $200 for me to use the following day but then immediately took it back from my account, leaving me with no money. When I called customer service on Monday (1/7), they stated that they pulled the checks from the ATM and that they were verifying them, and they should be released to me sooner than the 2 day hold. It is now Tuesday (1/7) no money has been released into my account, so I call them back and they stated even though they have verified the check, they will not release my funds until Wednesday around 4:45pm. They offered to release a very small portion to me, as if the money did not belong to me... this is the worst credit union I have ever dealt with, I would rather bank with Wells Fargo or Bank of America. If I could cancel my accounts I would.
