Ashley La Rose1They switched my checking account to one that charges a $7 MONTHLY fee without my consent because they thought it would be a “better option for me”… sounds to me like it would be better for Sound Credit Union, taking my money from under my nose like that! If I wanted to be charged a fee to simply hold my funds I would be with Key Bank or Wells Fargo. This behavior from a so called credit union is unacceptable.
Response from the ownerThanks for bringing this to our attention. A member of our management team will reach out to you to learn more and assist.

Amanda Russell1FURIOUS!! They refused to change a 20 for two rolls of quarters unless I was an account holder 🤬 I was told that they had to record the transaction!!!! Why would you possibly need to record making CHANGE for someone?! I was furious, insulted and will never ever create an account with Sound Credit Union as a result of this. That is a ridiculous and pretentious policy 0 out of 5 stars DO NOT RECOMMEND
Response from the ownerSorry to hear about your experience. We continue working to improve processes and services and will share this feedback with management for future consideration.

True Terra5I use the west seattle branch of SCU and have had great experiences there. The reason I’m writing a review for this location is cuz there’s this security guard i see everyday when i grab my lunch and he always fist bumps me and says sum nice like “keep up the good work” and it makes my day every time. Absolute goat.
Response from the ownerWe appreciate you taking the time to share your experience! We will share your feedback with our team. We look forward to continuing to serve you!

Amanda Robles5Ashley and co-workers were amazingly helpful! They went over of their way to help us get everything we needed when our loan came through approved so that we could start our business and get the doors open ASAP. They were helpful over email, over the phone and in-person and always responded promptly and with helpful information. Can't say enough about how great our experience was with these folks!
Response from the ownerThank you for sharing your experience! We appreciate you and your membership.

Mioshi Catrice (Blacc Sapphire)5This branch is cozy. Makes me feel like family. Everyone acknowledges me by first name basis, they cared about my hospital stay, and are encouraging individuals who care about me as a person not just a customer. Mary, Ashley, Tiffany and the new girl (sorry) thank you for making my banking experience super comfortable and natural.
Response from the ownerThank you for letting us know about your great experience. We think our First Hill team is great too and will share your kind words with them! We value your membership and look forward to serving you again.

Cassandra Schwartz5I worked with Mary, the Branch Manager, to get a credit card and a car loan. She was so great working with over email during these strange times. She was timely in her responses, and called me when I needed clarification. In the end I got everything I needed to get my new car, and she reached out later to make sure everything worked out. Thanks Mary!

Michele Foucault5(warning, the maybe TDLR, bear with me) When all calls are recorded for quality purposes, they’re not kidding. In 2015, I was evicted from my apartment due to the gentrification of my neighbourhood. I was recovering from knee replacement. I was lucky to be able to find temporary arrangement from one my oldest friends. On the last day, as we’re locking up, a 12’ hardwood bookcase fell and brook my foot, so. now I’m bedridden. I called SCU asking if I could use my partner to represent me. No matter how explained my situation, the representative shut down any of my suggestions. Two days later, out of the blue, I get a call from the head of quality control, apologising for my very rude experience. She gave me names and phone numbers if I encounter any further problems.
Response from the ownerThank you for sharing your story. We look forward to continuing to work with you!

Toni Ann Mills5Daniel and I have had the best experience with Mary and all the Crew here. One of the downers about moving from the area was not banking here on the reg. I plan on swinging in on occasion, just to say hello~ Great Peeps here!
Response from the ownerThank you for your excellent review! We look forward to continuing to work with you.

Creative Arts Management5My name is L. Willis and I am here to rave about the wonderful customer service and business services at the Sound Credit Union First Hill Branch in Seattle! This enthusiastic review is given of my own volition based on my recent experiences. I have both personal and business accounts set up at Sound Credit Union and I am more than happy with them both. More over, Ms. Nicole Williams, the Branch Manager at the First Hill location on Madison, is a consummate professional who made the entire process seamless! Ms. Williams initially assisted me in opening a personal checking and savings account with Sound and I would have stopped there; however, she took the time to give me a thorough and in depth analysis of what a business account at Sound Credit Union entailed, and how it could also benefit someone in my profession. Typically, matters involving financial services can be troublesome and stressful, so imagine my surprise to discover it doesn't always have to be this way -- Sound Credit Union proved it! The physical location of the First Hill branch may be rather small but the caring attitude and genuine respect Ms. Williams showed me was the biggest ever. After several bad experiences with other banks (and Credit Unions), I trust that Sound will handle my money and my concerns in a proper fashion. So far, so good! Cheers!

Chelsea Ericson1I have been with Sound Credit Union for over a year now, and I have been charged over $250 in fees from their "services". Their advertisement on free ATMs is completely misleading. They charge my account if my savings drops below a certain amount at any point during the month.
Response from the ownerHi, Chelsea. We’re sorry you’ve had this experience with us. Branch Manager Vince Stuber would like to help you with this. Please call 800.562.8130 and ask to speak with him—he’s waiting for your call.
