Lori Cummings1So since Smart Financial seems to have deleted my first review, I thought I would repost with updated information. My debit card was misplaced on December 27, 2021 and reported when I went into the branch on 12/28/21 at which time another one was ordered with the expectation of 10-14 days. On 1/10/22, again I went into the branch and another one was ordered; however, the first one was not cancelled. I called in on 1/19/22 and was told that the card has been ordered on 1/10/22 and that was all the information that was available. I went to the branch on 1/21/22 because I still did not have access to my money (except during banking business hours, of which I also work on the other side of town). Again, the only resolution was to order another card. When questioned, the visiting manager stated he had no phone number to call the debit card company and his boss didn’t either. I left furious. On 1/22/22, after going into the branch to withdrawal funds, I was approached by Jeremy Johnson (Relationship Manager). I told him the history and he basically had no resolution other than to order another card. He stated that if I had a heart I wouldn’t post a review because this was a corporate issue and his staff’s merit raises were based on reviews. So he wasn’t in the least bit concerned about resolving the customer issue, just that his staff did not receive bad reviews. Stunned, I have no words for this lack of customer service on Smart Financial’s part.

We will be sure to reach out once we determine what the issue is on your debit card. Remember that it takes 7-14 days to receive a new card and today is day 14 after your first request.

Ed1Re: Auto Loan The process of application and closing on my auto loan was smooth and quick. Once they had my money, it has been 5 months and the truck still isn't registered under my name. I closed on my auto loan on September, it is February and nothing has been registered under my name. When I closed on my loan, I was told that in two weeks, my documents would be mailed to the DMV. I came to find out that Smart FCU did not send my documents until December!! They stated it was due to an employee shortage. Inexcusable! My registration is due March, it is Feb 15 and still no registration. It is still registered under the previous owners name. The only good thing they got going for them are the rates and closing in my opinion.

haydee Carpy1This bank says the close at 5. When you call customer service before 5 but get a message to call back during normal business hours its very frustrating. You need to update your hours on line to show you close at 4:50 NOT 5. The on line banking portal is terrible. What a joke of a bank, system and over all experience. Take your money elsewhere!!!

Kay A1On 9/30/17, I went to Smart Financial at 10330 Hwy 6, Missouri City, TX 77459 and received poor customer service. I arrived at about 11 am and was instructed by the representative to check-in and have a seat and she would be with me shortly. I came to the credit union to get a document notarized and at the time of my check-in, I was the only customer in the waiting area and had a seat as directed. Then a Spanish speaking man came into the credit union about 10 minutes after my check-in and the same person that told me to check-in and have a seat began helping him, but he was never told to check-in and have a seat. I brought this to the representative's attention that I arrived first at the credit union and was waiting for her to serve me. She explained because she was the only Spanish speaking person at the credit union, she needed to help him. Well, I did not understand why she did not tell him in Spanish to check-in and have a seat because another customer was here first. I did not get her name, but she was the only person there that day that spoke Spanish. I am very disappointed in Smart Financial to hire someone with poor customer service skills. Personally, I was shocked I had this experience, since I have had no complaints with Smart Financial in all the years I have been a member. I left the credit union without receiving service, since I had another commitment that morning and could not wait any longer. I had to pay another bank to get me what I thought Smart Financial should have given me, customer service.

Alesha Walker2Do not bank with Smart Financial. As a local bank and Credit Union, this bank lacks the customer service of a small town bank. Their deposit/withdrawal policies are not in the best interest of their customers. Ive banked with SFCU for over 5 years and I am still treated like a new customer with phony checks every time I deal with them. Im moving to a national institution.

Charmaine Butler1This bank is not a good bank. When you come in person for a issue they will treat you as if you not a priority. I walked in to ask questions about my account and the manager looked at me and told me he can’t help me. I was like I haven’t even told you my issue yet. Their customer service suck and don’t ever deposit a check with them. They will hold your check for two weeks without telling you why. Then when you ask them why they give you a run around. I hate this bank. Soon as I get all my money I’m closing it.
Response from the ownerWe are sorry for your frustration, Ms. Butler. Same as with any other financial institution, we have certain deposit guidelines in place to protect our member-owners. A 2-week hold is highly atypical and would only occur if there was an ongoing issue with the check being deposited. It appears that you have spoken to management already about these reasons, but please feel free to call us back if you have any additional questions.

Jell1My account had over $500 in fraud transactions transferred to the same paypal account in less than a week with multiple a day, sometimes as many as 8 a day I informed the credit union of the fraud charges and paypal confirmed the fraud, returned the money to the bank but the bank took a month to return it to me. During the investigation they said they would waive overdraw fees and they havent. Over a month without access to any of my pay, employees at the corporate branch posing as managers all they can say is they're sorry. Said they would expidite a new card and after a week it still hasnt shipped. Connected my account to a paypal account to transfer money so i can have access to my funds seeing as im a single mother and have kids to feed and bills to pay and was told it would take at least 3 days to approve the transactions.... Ok. WAIT! IF IT TAKES 3 DAYS FOR YOU TO APPROVE EVERY TRANSFER THAN WHY DID I HAVE TO CONTACT YOU ABOUT MULTIPLE TRANSFERS OCCURING EVERY DAY FOR 2 WEEKS? WHY WERE THOSE TRANSACTIONS BY A STRANGER APPROVED IN LESS THAN A DAY BUT THE ACCOUNT HOLDER HAS TO WAIT 3 DAYS TO TRANSFER TO THEIR OWN ACCOUNT? AT WHAT POINT SHOULD I STEP IN AND CONTACT THE NEWS AND A LAWYER? THE CREDIT UNION CHARGES THEIR CUSTOMERS FOR BEING LATE ON THEIR PAYMENTS SO WHAT ADDITIONAL COMPENSATION SHOULD I EXPECT FROM YOU?

Ted Morris2Have google update your hours of operation this place is not open on Saturdays glad I called before going to turn in my signature card actually you can go to any branch instead of mailing it. Thanks for the reply but i was talking about the corporate office not the other branches just need to update the time at this location
