  I was a first time home buyer with no knowledge of anything related to the process. Jeremy was patient and thorough with every step I needed to make. He taught me a lot about buying a home so that next time I will know a lot more going into it. I would recommend Jeremy Thomas to anyone looking to get a mortgage. He was always available by phone or email whenever I needed something or had questions.

  If I didn’t have Jeremy Thomas to guide me through the very arduous, stressful, long and confusing mortgage process, I wouldn’t be sitting in my great new house as I write this! He worked his magic with numbers which allowed me to get this house. He was very thorough and calm while dealing with a crazy, stressed out and tearful me!! He explained everything, always returned phone calls and made the process as easy as it could be. I would, and will recommend Jeremy whenever the opportunity arises. In the meanwhile, you should take my advice and let Jeremy be your mortgage guy! p.s. I’d like to also recommend SEFCU if your looking a mortgage company. Every, and I mean every, SEFCU person I spoke was helpful, informative and determined to help me and they did!! Just like with Jeremy I will always recommend SEFCU as the place to get your mortgage!

  We worked with Jeremy Thomas for our recent mortgage. Jeremy was great from the start of the (long and frequently confusing) mortgage lending process all the way to the end. In fact, we closed on our house a month ago and he's STILL helping us with things! He is always available to competently answer my numerous questions (even talked to me while driving, exercising, and called me back on his day off!) and laid things out in terms we could understand. He just really did a great job explaining our options throughout the process, recommended certain paths when we had multiple to choose from (such as providing a previously-unknown-to-us way for us to lock in a historically low interest rate a month before we closed), and helped us through every step of the way. We really felt like he was on our side - like he was working for us and not the bank. You can't go wrong with this guy. We couldn't be happier!

  Carey Kopcik-Clark with SEFCU's Syracuse mortgage branch is an excellent loan originator. It felt like we had a family member helping us buy a house even though we were over an hour away! We were first time home buyers and she walked us through every step, answering our many questions and making sure we understood the process completely.

  Stunningly bad experience. Lorraine ran my fiances credit. Her score was adequate however the ever popular "mystery medical bill" popped up. He told her to go look in to it and call back. The bill had been paid two years ago and it was a simple clerical error. She cleared it up with the hospital and called Lorraine back a week later to proceed. He told her she would have to wait a year to re-apply with SEFCU due to the bill. Never heard of a lender doing some thing like that in my life. Her credit score has now dropped several points as a result of him running her credit. Fortunately, regardless of that, another lender approved her for a mortgage in two days. Beware before you let him run your credit!

  The first loan officer i worked with was amazing but she switched banks. Then I was passed off to another lady who was wildly unprofessional barely responded to emails or kept me up to date instead I always had to reach out to her. Just terrible and very frustrating. Pass if you can.

  We contacted Kathy (Cranker) Street about getting pre-qualified for a mortgage. Ms. Street failed to follow up with a phone call or email as she stated she would for over a week. When we called back to ask for an update, we were met with sarcasm and rude, unprofessional behavior. Needless to say, we've decided to find another lender and are really disappointed and offended by the way this loan officer conducted herself.
