  This was a terrible experience. I have banked at SSFCU for 28 years and have normally been pleased. This time it took me 5 attempts to open an IRA Savings account, open a 2019 Roth IRA CD and to transfer the IRA Savings to a new IRA CD. All together it took me 6 hrs and 15 mins to get it done. If I had not gone back the 5th time, my new CD would have stayed at zero balance. Everyone is always nice but they don't have enough people trained to handle IRA's at the Bandera & 1604 branch and it usually takes an hour before you even see someone to start the process. I'm not looking forward to the next time I have to spend 2 hrs to get my business done.

  Painless, stress free. Ms. Laura Cuevas was extremely helpful and efficient in this process. I would recommend using SSFCU for mortgage loans, they even paid up to $5000 of our closing cost!!!

  This is not a real credit union. It’s a bank. They can call it what they want but they do not act like any credit union I have ever done business with. It’s all about the fees at security service.... a $6 fee at the end of the month just for the pleasure of banking with them. And God forbid you get overdrawn by $0.01!!! The fees at this place are outrageous and arbitrary, and when you ask about it, they’ll tell you that the fees are actually just a “service” they provide (??????). I have been with many credit unions over the years, this is the ONLY one that has EVER assessed me a fee. THIS IS A BANK, NOT A CREDIT UNION!!!!!! Take your money while you’ve still got it, and run far far far away from this BANK as they are just as corrupt and greedy as any other bank. By hook or by crook, they WILL get your money. Might as well entrust your money to a crackhead. RUN.
