Anna Leyson5I've been a member with SECU since my mom put in for my first investment CD when I was in elementary school. I'm in my 30's now and have been very satisfied throughout the decades. Even though I've lived outside of Maryland for 10 years now, I have always kept my accounts with SECU. They have been accessible by email, phone, and even virtually! Fortunately, I live close to a sister credit union where I have access to free ATM withdrawals. Their courtesy over the years and over the many miles is why I refuse to change banks. Very big thanks to Ms. Mia Duvall-Humes, for being so understanding and patient during the transfer of my mom's estate when she passed. Thanks also to Ms. Kelly Garisto for making herself available even though she's a busy Multi-Site Manager. And also, Ms. Cherene Pack who is part of the virtual team, ready and available while I'm Home away from Home.

Kevin Owusu5I been to the branch in Greenbelt plenty of times, I’ve always had an exceptional experience. They are very well rounded and keep a cordial relationship with their members. Tellers are always available, and advisors are ready to attend to you on a walk-in basis. A manager at the branch Kedisha had stunning customer service and was able to settle the issues I had going on with my account… without any problem. I highly recommend that anyone who is looking to join a credit union in the area check out this location.

E G1I am current customer with several accounts and mortgage with SECU. My experience with their Mortgage arm leaves much to be desired. The process never felt like it was seemless, compared to other companies who offer mortgages. Moreover, I learned the distribution of an escrow was mishandled one year after the fact. On top of that, I am left to chase after the mortgage/realty service to request follow up on the matter. They have shown minimal initiative to reconcile and keep me in the loop (3-4 weeks since I have reached out and shared notices) and I take issue with the fact that I am getting the impression that I have to do the leg work of connecting county tax officials to this bank to address an issue that the serving team has failed to deliver on.

Meagan Browne5I visited this SECU branch in May when I was closing on the purchase of a new townhome. This closing process had already been a bit chaotic that week and I was super anxious and hesitant about wiring a large sum of money to the title company. I was helped by Mia Duvall-Humes. She is an excellent Member Advisor at the Greenbelt, MD SECU branch. I have been in the customer service field for over 11 years, and I pride myself on providing superior customer service. Ms. Duvall-Humes met and exceed my own standards on my visit. She definitely eased my nerves about wiring the large sum of money. She ensured to double and triple check the wiring information and allowed me to confirm it all as well. I think a lot of customer service company's could take notes from this SECU branch.

Linda Williams5I called and spoke to Kiera and one of the other wonderful ladies at this location. Their attitudes were so pleasant and professional. They made me feel like a VIP!!. If my day was going bad, these awesome ladies would have brighten my day with their personalities. They handled my questions and transaction, promptly and professional. SECU credit union keep up the Great work that you do to make our lives much Easier. I highly recommend you to others!!

Marie Anthony5I had the pleasure of visiting this branch today and the man at the front (I didn’t get his name🤦🏾♀️) and the tellers was very helpful. The gentleman had my name soon I walked in the door if I lived in the area that would definitely be my banking institution.

Nick Johnson1Don't ever bank with this credit union. They rejected my stimulas check and try to lie and said they thought a company was trying to take money out of my account. This doesn't make any sense, when I've gotten deposits with the same amounts before. Be aware people, this credit union is very bias and they are scammers. They have bad customer service, plus I'm going to shut down my account with them asap. Then the manager had no empathy and was like it's not there fault they rejected my money and I have to call IRS. I hope SECU goes out of business for their dishonesty.

Francy Stilwell2I want to like them, but the Mobile App is terrible, my most recent problem with it is saving passwords for a Business Account and for a Personal Account, it can’t do both and switches one out for the other. I‘ve offered feedback on this and other problems in the past. It would be helpful if they let me know they received it and acted on it.
