      We had one more month left on our current lease on our 2018 Elantra GT Sport and thought we'd pop by San Leandro Hyundai just to see whether we wanted to elevate our ride. Spoke to Robert who was welcoming and not at all pushy. Asked to see the newest Sonata Limited. Brought out their top of the line car they had on the lot, black with white interior. Had absolutely no intentions of driving off the lot... they gave us top $$$ on our low mileage GT, sorted all of the rebates, loyalties (third Hyundai) and best price on the car. Mathew took care of all paperwork which only took about 90 minutes. There was some residue from the shipping wrap on the car as it just hit the lot. But by the time we closed the deal, their detailers had already left for the day. Robert volunteered to pickup our car from SF, drive it to San Leandro/Hayward and after it was fully detailed... drove the car back to our house in SF. Robert took the extra step to make what typically is an "ordeal" and made it an extremely easy and drama-free experience. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a quality car.

      I would highly recommend this dealership. The staff goes above and beyond to help people out. It rare to see such people all have the same type of attitude of not just being friendly, but just being good humans. There is nothing bad to say about this place. You won't be disappointed.

      Extremely rude and disinterested sales staff. Wonder why Hyundai even have this dealership open. Should just shut it down if they are not interested in selling cars

      Highly recommend San Leandro Hyundai Dealership and service manager Nicole, she took the time to call me about a delay I had with first time dropping off my 2021 Kona for service. The call was greatly appreciated and look forward to continued service and sales with them, I bought my first every Hyundai Elantra GT from them also a great car. AJ was my salesman for my 2021 Kona and he made the process smooth and quick, very knowledgeable about the cars and instantly knew what car to show me I had to buy and still enjoying everyday.

      I had a catastrophic engine failure in my 2013 Sonata. After the first mechanic I went to told me he could tell it was bad without even dropping the oil pan, I did some research and found out it was covered under warranty. Ed and the guys over at San Leandro Hyundai were quick to take my call. I had to get it towed to the dealership while I was at work, but they were very flexible and I was able to coordinate with the team to have my car dropped off at the service center and they would take a look. Sure enough, the engine had blown and they were going to have to replace it. They had my car for a few extra days because of a company-wide server issue, but once that was corrected, they were able to handle everything super quick and i had my car back in less then a week. If you have a Hyundai and its having issues, do your research, and then take it to the guys over at San Leandro Hyundai.

      Shifty and shady. I drove out (an hour away from my home) after specifically mentioning to Alex (his emails were signed Aki Ka Fai Chui) the two cars I wanted to test drive (Hyundai Sonata Hybrid SEL and the Santa Fe SEL). Upon arrival (after letting me drive for an hour) Alex explained that the Sonata wasn't available and that he really wanted me to drive an SE Santa Fe (SHIFTY!). I asked him why he didn't tell me that on the phone, and he advised that it was a "very busy day for him" , great, thanks for letting me drive an hour only to find out the car YOU KNEW I wanted to test drive wouldn't be "safe" to test drive (SHADY!), whatever that meant. Alex then forced me to drive the SE Santa Fe (SHADY!), even after I explained that wasn't either of the cars I was there to drive. Also there was only 6 miles worth of gas in the tank, which Alex then hurriedly explained was normal for a test drive (SHIFTY!). I've never before test driven a car on empty, and it didn't really allow for a drive more than 2 blocks which wouldn't be a useful test drive at all. I walked the lot after my two block test drive of the SE which was a TOTAL WASTE OF TIME while Alex was getting the keys to the SE and found the Sonata (I had the VIN from your ad) I specifically was told was not "safe for a test drive" (SHADY AND SHIFTY!). I was then allowed to test drive the car that I had driven an hour to come out and test drive, only after specifically mentioning that I saw the car on the lot to Alex (SHADY!). I'm guessing he thought that I would have been so blown away by the SE model Santa Fe (the lowest trim tier, I was there to drive the mid-grade tier) that I would no longer want to drive the Sonata. After I called him out on his fib, he reluctantly let me drive the Sonata. We decided to sit down and talk about the price on the Sonata, which I was ready to buy that day. After showing him the TrueCar quote on the Sonata provided by their dealership via the app which Alex said they had no control over. Alex became pushy, rude and tried to use multiple excuses and constantly switched up his explanations for the reason why he couldn't honor the True Car price after I would push back he'd come up with a brand new explanation of why he couldn't honor the price. Eventually he raised his voice with me and became visibly agitated, and that's when I decided to end the conversation and not continue even attempting to work with him and this dealership. I called TrueCar customer service after this terrible experience for clarification on who provides the quotes when you request them on their app and they let me know the dealers do provide the offers when you provide your contact info, which is how Alex got my information. Guess they use a low price on TrueCar that they have no intention of honoring to get you in so they can try and get you to buy something you didn't want after bamboozling you with their SHADY and SHIFTY routine. Happy ending: That night I shared the quote that I was told was "impossible to honor" by Alex at this dealership with an awesome dealer at Capitol Hyundai in San Jose via text that night. I sealed the deal with the via text the following morning after confirming the details. They sold me the car I wanted with no hassle or back and forth at all about the price or payments from that "impossible to honor" quote the following day. I recommend you check out Capitol Hyundai first and stay far far away from this shady and shifty dealership.

      Worse costumer service I have ever had. The manager was rude and didn't have any intentions of selling. He wasn't doing anythin, no body was there to help. I came to this location because they actually have the color of the car I want. Don't give them any business just go to another location and have them get the car for you. Don't waste your time or money with this people. I felt over looked, manager was unwilling to help. Very disrespectful and discriminatory.

      Excessive diagnostic costs, rude service and no response from supervisor. I had a pretty bad experience when I brought my vehicle in for a possible related recall and to rectify mistakes from an earlier visit. The service costs $200/diagnostic and the associate had little patience. I also had to follow up multiple times to get useful info. If you can, I would avoid this branch, it's better to go to Hyundai in Fremont or Dublin. Not worth the headache and constant back and forth.

      My experience purchasing a vehicle from San Leandro Hyundai was nothing but excellent. Jose was great to work with & SUPER patient with me as I went back & forth (then back & forth many more times!) thinking out loud trying to decide what I wanted. I walked in thinking I'd leave in a Kia, but they didn't have the model I wanted to see in stock. Jose showed me all the cars on the lot that were within my budget & included my "must have" features. In the end I purchased a Hyundai & never even went to another location to look at that Kia I was considering. Now that's how you sell a car! I would recommend San Leandro Hyundai to anyone & tell them to ask for Jose when they walk in the door. Thank you to everyone there; I couldn't be happier with my new car! 🚗💨
