Drew P5Customer Service: 5 Location: 5 Parking: 5 Cleanliness: 5 This credit union is conveniently located on US1 HWY as you are coming into the town of Lexington, SC. We used their services a few times over the past year for shared banking services. Their customer service is always very helpful and professional. The facility is always very clean and well maintained to the highest standard.

katelyn Evans1Your customer service representatives (specifically Jody) are terse, condescending, and generally unhelpful. "Family helping family"? They take no interest or care in the customer whatsoever, only provide terse short pointed responses which place blame on customer, even when said customer is desperately TRYING to give them their money...Call wait times are pitiful and they make no haste towards assisting people with timely deadlines. Their systems and protocols are like time traveling to the 80s!!! I will do everything in my power to never hold a loan or bank with this antiquated, simple, predatory institution ever again

Kari Stas1We have been banking with y’all for 20 years. We closed our account and STILL acquired $800 dollars in overdraft fees …..the account had been closed for over a month. Not only was the checking closed, we kept the savings open to make sure if there was anything to come out of the account post closure there would be money to move over. We were told the over draft protection was canceled when we closed the account and that is why we acquired the over drafts. So why did they suggest keeping the savings account open for that reason? Also, it was a $30 water bill that was attempted to be taken out multiple times, so safe didn’t pay the bill and charge us one fee…..oh no, they declined it and let them keep attempting to take it out therefore acquiring $800 worth of over draft charges. We closed the account because you made it impossible to get money from Bank of America, where our business account is, into our safe account unless we physically brought cash. You stole money from us many times but this time was gut wrenching. Your slogan is where membership matters, comical. We will never step foot in your building again.

Stephen Pstrak4I am half a millionaire. I pay cash for everything. When I needed to rent a car I needed a credit card,not a debit card. I had a quarter million dollars in the SAFE credit union savings account. I asked for a credit card. I was told three times no because my credit score is zero. That's because I use my debit card and pay cash! I had to take Dave Ramsey's advice and go to the other credit union in town who were very glad to give me a $1,000 limit credit card so I could rent my car from Hertz and take a vacation. I have been with Safe for 25 years. 🤔😮💨

Kat Smith1When everything was going well for me financially they were fine but once I started experiencing financial difficulties they were insensitive, demeaning and would strategically make things even more difficult. They held my money on multiple occasions even when a payment on a loan had not reached 30 days past due! I have a bank employee that witnessed another loan officer not providing vital information as well. They discriminate and google SAFE as they have other on going discrimination lawsuits. I was them several years but as a Christmas present to myself changed banks. I'm getting in touch with Director: Darrell Merkel of how they right now are not allowing me online access to pay my bills until my direct deposit goes through my new bank. They are also holding my balance hostage!!

Shere D1I would never visit this location again its awful. Ever time I visit this location I get the same teller and she is horrible. She makes no eye contact, no greeting, very unprofessional and unpleasant. I withdrew a large sum of money out of my checking account and she had a very difficult time counting back the money to me. I stood there while she counted the money back several times. Most people count the larger bills first. She started off counting the smaller bills first and got confused. I had to recount the money behind her. This credit union needs a money counting machine. Another time I visit this location I got the same teller. While doing my transaction she was so deep into conversation with the teller on the side of her and that teller member. She wasn't paying attention and handed me my receipt and said here is your driver license back.I live 5 minutes from this location but I'm willing to drive 15 minutes to the 12th street location. I always receive top notch superior customer service there. The tellers are very efficient, professional, and polite. The vibe and atmosphere is a lot different than the Lexington location and I get a friendly greeting every time I walk in the door.

Chris Ricken4As far banking at the Lexington (Augusta Hwy) branch, I give them 5 stars. I’ve been a customer for 15+ years & have only compliments for the staff there. The ATM machines need to be seriously upgraded. They are extremely slow to process. Also, they are slow to roll out technology efficiencies (remote check deposit) thus giving them 4 stars.

Susan Price1Went on line for a pre approval for a car loan, was approved with a 2.99% and within 2 days when I called/emailed the vehicle information and finalize loan the interest rate went up to 3.99%. I know that does not seem like much but when you are making a purchase and told one thing and it ends up being another it is. I should have known then to go with another institution but I did not and then we go to this branch to sign loan and finalize all paperwork. Everything went good at that time, had a nice conversation with the loan officer which apologized several times for the loan process taking so long. I asked the loan officer what was their process on getting the tag, (new tag) and she told me to go and get a temp tag and the branch would call me to come and pick my tag up when it came in. 3 weeks later, no tag but an email from the on line loan officer asking if I had paid my property tax/sales tax?? What?? I have contacted all of the loan officers and asked for a manager to contact me, and she did say there was some confusion and if I would like to refinance the vehicle to include all the fees (WHY would I do that) I could but that I needed to get this done before it is too late and I get late fees. She did say they would waive the tag fee but they could not offer any other assistance, I asked if they could pay 1/2 of the fees due since the loan officer agreed that she did give wrong information. I am not satisfied with this institution or loan process and will not open another one with them..
