      Banked there many years ago when Uniroyal was still in operation. I had a checking account, auto loan and a revolving credit loan. I worked at Uniroyal and got laid off. I signed up for unemployment and back then you didn’t get the first unemployment payment for about 5-6 weeks then got all the back payments at once. I always kept money available in my revolving loan so if I did get laid off I could borrow money from it to pay my auto loan until my unemployment checks started coming in. I went in to do just that and the teller told me I had no money available. I said this isn’t right. A man behind the counter ( not a teller) spoke up loud enough for everyone in the building to hear and said “we don’t borrow money to people who don’t work “. I was belittled and humiliated in front of both staff and customers. It was very demeaning. I then went to the Consumers Credit Union where I once had an account when I was a boy when I had a Paper Route. I explained my situation and used a motorcycle I owned for collateral and opened a checking account and a loan to pay on my auto payment to RCU. I went back to RCU , paid my auto payment then closed all other account with them. They knew exactly why I was closing them and made no attempt to apologize. Eventually I got called back to Uniroyal and never used RCU again. Back then there was no Google review system, but you can bet I told everyone I know and still do. After being publicly humiliated an online apology does very little.

      Since RCU closed the lobbies due to covid, it has been frustrating sitting in line for the drive up at the Birch St. Location. I sat for half an hour, to make a simple deposit. The vehicle in front of me, had multiple transactions to have processed. They were at the window, for 25 minutes. All the lines were six cars deep, waiting in all rows. RCU needs to put more employees on at the drive up, especially at peak times of the day. They also should have one or two rows designated and posted for members that have multiple transactions and time consuming situations that also need attention. I hope my suggestions will be considered in the future.

      Average time it takes to talk to anyone in members services is at least a 1/2 hour. AND they don't return your call. Always a total waste of time. Answer your phone or hire extra help--PLEASE! And Don't get me started on the slooow drive thru service.

      Expect to typically wait 20 min on the phone to talk to anyone, and since having an auto loan through them, it has just been a pain. Trying to switch an auto withdrawal payment date alone is an operation. i tried talking to three different people about getting the date switched and they told me I had to docusign an email which is fine, but they never send me the emails I require over half the time! I always have them confirm my email with me and they never make it, and one that did had no way of being signed off the pdf file so something had to be done over snail mail which got to be ridiculous. Finally just talked to someone on the phone to get a mailed letter sent to me to sign just to opt out of auto withdrawn payments, and while I had the person on the phone, I asked if she could submit this months payment for me with my saved banking information. She told me she did and all was good, told me she would send a confirmation email (which of course I never got) just to have their collections department reach out to me today in regards to why I haven’t made my payment this month. I’ve tried being patient with them but this is just ridiculous.

      Royal Credit Union is a complete joke. God forbid life ever gets in the way and causes you to become behind on a payment. They do not work with people whatsoever. Their mortgage loss mitigation team is a joke. They are backstabbers and filthy scum. If you ever need to call them to get a simple question answered expect to be on the phone for at least 20 minutes. They do not appreciate their customers, and their workers have zero communications skills. My next mortgage will be through anybody but them. They are enthusiastic to get you approved, but once events transpire beyond your control they will screw you over.

      I've banked in many/most places in town through my life. RCU is the best of the lot. Always fast and friendly when I want to zip through the drive-through. I like that their deposit/withdrawal slips are already in the tube - it saves us at least one exchange at the drive up window (thus saving time). That is why all of the other banks will get 3 stars or less (except Bank Mutual...they are pretty good too).

      RCU has been my credit union for years, and I have no complaints. Quick service, card has never failed me, very easy website to work with, and if you are a member, they will notarize documents for free. I also love the app they've been working on over the years; it allows the ability for fingerprint scanning, quick check balance, and check deposit just by taking a photograph of the check.

      This is rediculous!!!! 6 lanes open in drive through HOWEVER, I was second in line and waited 25 min!!! My entire lunch hour. Each lane moved slow, but not mine. Not enough tellers?? What is happening?!!! Can't go in side, so please do something!!!!

      Been waiting on a replacement card for almost a month and keep getting the run around when I’ve called in to find out where my card is. This was after they shut off my card without me knowing and being out of town. I’m currently on the phone with them and still getting the run around.
