Riverview Community Bank Reviews

richard stubbs1I have had a business and a personal account with Riverview since early 2009. I have never deposited a bad check from any of my customers in that entire time, which is why it was very unfortunate that my home branch manager ( Randy @ orchards) decided to put a hold on a slightly larger than usual check I deposited yesterday, when the branch I deposited it at called him for approval. I haven't had a hold placed on a check in over a decade. I've known Randy for 11-12 years and vice versa( I had a friendly conversation with him the other day), and this is an extremely volatile time in our current state of the economy to take advantage of a small business and withhold the necessary funds to make payroll and keep our heads afloat. If Home depot can know INSTANTLY if you write them a bad check and deny a sale, then a bank knows INSTANTLY if funds from another account is good. There's no way that Home Depot has better technology than a bank. In the past they have also called the institution on the check in order to verify funds for immediate release, but again, that doesn't make the bank much money if they can't hold onto checks for periods of time. I've had the same trouble with the Stark st. and I-205 location (currently closing down), so I would take the check back from them and go to my home branch where I used to feel comfortable depositing money and having it be available to use for my business expenses. I will be looking elsewhere for my personal and businesses banking needs directly, because after 11+ years, I'm still not considered a valued and trusted customer. Also, looking at the other reviews, 9-5star and 5-1 star reviews = 4 stars???

Koda Leab5I've been working with the bank teller Jonathan. He is amazing and totally deserves a raise! We've had some issues with closing my account and he has been so on top of it and helpful. I'm sad to be closing my account because this team is truly amazing and I've been with them for 7 years. If Riverview was national I would never bank anywhere else but unfortunately I travel too much and we're moving out of the area soon.
Response from the ownerThank you for the kind words, Koda.

mari M1D'ja was very unpleasant to deal with. She was very irritated by me attempting to ask a simple question. So I said i don't care to deal with her her reply as she threw my I.D. and card back at me was "back at you!!" Super unprofessional and tacky. I won't be opening an account here!

Joanna Beall1Beyond disappointed with this branch. We have several commercial accounts with Riverview and submitted a small change order recently for one of our stores. Since the lobby was closed, I went through the drive through and was told to pull around the front of the bank. I expressed my concern that I needed to see the cash counted since we have been previously shorted on change orders. I was told that they would bring the cash out to my car and count it there. After waiting for a lengthy period of time, the teller came out and refused to count the cash because he said it was starting to drizzle. I told him that the teller at the window said it would be counted in front of me when I expressed concern about the accuracy. Despite what was promised, he refused to count the cash and essentially through the cash in my lap without it being bundled or clipped. The cash literally went everywhere. I was so upset that I spoke with the president of our company. He followed-up with me that he left two voice mail messages for Kim Capelletto, Executive Vice President with Riverview and that he never received the courtesy of a returned phone call. We thought a local regional bank would appreciate our business, but clearly we were mistaken.

Beatris Holman5Great banking experience – Everyone is super friendly, locations are always clean and convenient, no harsh fees or rules like so many big national banks. They remember you and really get involved in the community.

Zelma Lenhart5Old school bank – It used to be you had a relationship with a bank and they were there when you needed them. These people seem to take a real interest in what you’re trying to do and find ways to help you with it. It’s refreshing to see a bank tied to their customer’s success and satisfaction.
