  A Firm with Integrity whose Team Members are Trustworthy, Reliable, and Transparent. That’s how I would describe Residential First Mortgage based on my more than 30-year relationship with the firm and its President, Ken Thayer. Ken guided me through the financing of my first home in 1991, and he has been my “go to guy” for every real estate transaction since. There’s no bait and switch here. Ken provides the best financing options available for the market environment. You get what you signed up for, and you get it in a timely fashion. These people care about their clients and provide first rate service. Over the years, Ken has invested extra time to educate me and to introduce me to different financing options. His guidance has been invaluable. He has saved me time and money, and he has enabled me to build my net worth more quickly. Ken and his team are friendly, knowledgeable, and efficient. They have seen me through the purchase of my first home, the purchase of my second home, the conversion of my first home into a rental, the acquisition of capital for several remodels, and the refinancing of multiple mortgages to improve my financial position as rates have dropped over the years. Though other brokers have tried to tempt me, I have always remained loyal to Ken and his team because I trust them and because they deliver excellent results.

Ken Thayer, President of Residential First Capital since 1979, is a consummate professional and has developed a service that is consumer friendly with a humanistic approach to lending...a rarity indeed. The entire staff is knowledgeable, dedicated, responsive, and customer service at Residential First Capital is top notch. The rates offered by Residential First are most competitive and escrow is a breeze. Having a notary come to our home for all document signings is a much appreciated bonus. Residential First Capital is one of the few business that I recommend unequivocally.

  I have been working with Residential First Cap and Ken for nearly 5 years. I trust them explicitly. They are incredibly responsive, provide fact based answers and always intensely honest. The team that Ken has assembled has been the same for the 5 years I have been investing and that also says a lot. The work environment must be good and that is good for all, both investors and clients. These guys perform and do what they say they are doing to do, I never have to worry about anything. This is why my trust is with them. If I could give them 10 stars, I would!!

I have invested in a variety of private money investments with his team and have always been superbly happy with the results. I think that their level of knowledge and expertise set them apart from many others in this area. I know that the information given on any opportunity will be accurate and that the appropriate level of due diligence will have been completed before the deal is signed off for investors.   I have known and invested with Ken Thayer for over 20 years and my experiences have been extremely satisfying. I do not recall ever having a loss of principal. I have a high regard for Ken for the way he does business. His record stands head and shoulders above that of any other hard money broker I have dealt with, and I have used several others. The reason for the high praise is his integrity, great business sense, and thorough due diligence in selecting the loans he funds. Additionally, he has often shared the risk when he was under no obligation to do so. He has never abandoned his investors when a lender defaulted, but stood with us to help work through the default to obtain the most satisfactory end result. I have not been a borrower, but as a lender it is obvious that his selectivity of borrowers demonstrates that he has high regard for the success of the borrowers as well. If the deal makes financial sense to investors, it is because he believes it will make good financial sense to the borrower as well. Ken has fulfilled the 3 attributes of a person I prefer to do business with: Integrity, Intelligence and Persistence.

  I have worked with Ken and his team for over a decade as an originator of loans, joint venture investments, partner, investor as well as bringing in my own investors. We have done hundreds of transactions of varying sizes and complexity and ALL handled with a professional/conservative approach that makes sense for not only the investors and originators but also for the borrower…. Truly win/win investing. In the past I worked with many other companies doing the same type of transactions and trust me, this is not the industry standard. This is why 100% of my business has been originated here for over a decade. I wish there was an option for more than 5 stars, I could not endorse or recommend a company or team any more than then Ken and this team.
