I bank with regions and use EFS checks all the time. I've never been charged to cash one at my home bank. Come to the branch in Chattanooga and they are charging me $350 to cash my check here. The older black headed lady is snippy and says the reason they charged me is because I don't have enough money in my account to cover the check. Of course not stupid, EFS checks are used by truckers to cash their paychecks. Most people don't already have their paycheck sitting in their bank to cover it when they get it. I'll be so grateful to get out of this branch and never return. Sad part is, this is their main branch for the area.

Omg!!!!!! Worst bank EVER!!!! Run. They messed up setting my account up, accidentally canceled one, the banker had to call me to have me come back in with all my information as she got in trouble from her manager for setting it up wrong. They have lost my money two separate times… They found it, but it was me who caught it, and took them several weeks to get the funds back in my account. Make sure you reserve about 30 minutes to make any deposit. The customer service is definitely lacking. Run! Run! Run!

I've been banking with Regions for over 11 years in 3 different states. I have done business at dozens of different branches over the years, and the branch on Market Street in downtown Chattanooga takes the cake as the WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE I have ever experienced in my life, hands down. I wasted over an hour at this location talking to multiple associates and left ready to close my account because they not only wouldn't help me but were obnoxious about it too. I attempted to cash my tax refund check there, and they wouldn't let me cash it because it had my husband's name listed on it, not mine. It's our JOINT checking account. After arguing this point with Donnie, the rude teller, and also with Donnie's very rude supervisor, I left to go pick up my husband who just had major knee surgery and is getting around painfully on crutches. I drove him back downtown with me to the Market Street branch, and Donnie was waiting for us at the teller window when we arrived. We had to walk (or crutch) through an outdoor line they setup at their drive-thru window due to covid-19 restrictions in their lobby (which I was informed by Regions via email had been lifted: "Our lobbies are now open"...not) My husband approached him and presented his tax check and ID to cash it. Donnie then smirked and informed us that he would have to charge a fee because we didn't have enough money in our checking account at the time to cover the amount of the whole check. Ok, #1, who keeps that much money sitting in their checking account to be able to cover a big refund check? #2, the check is from the IRS... Are they worried it's going to bounce or something?! And #3, are you seriously going to charge us a fee to cash a government check when we're Regions customers??? I told Donnie I wanted to speak to his supervisor again, and this time he brought us Michael Bua, the branch manager. We were expecting to finally receive some help, but we were met with sarcasm and a lot more rudeness. Michael informed us that it's not only a "long-standing Regions policy" that he can't do anything about but also that the fee would be over $70!! Are you freaking kidding me?! I told him that's crazy and that I could go cash it at Wal-Mart for only 3 bucks if I wanted to pay a fee. We told him we were appalled with the level of service received after more than 11 years. He shrugged at us with a smirk and again refused to do anything about this "long-standing Regions policy" that I've never heard before. We told him we would cash it elsewhere and that we would be closing our account ASAP. We drove 10 minutes to the North River location, received WONDERFUL service (which I will note in a separate review) and were back out the door with cash in hand only a couple minutes later. Not surprisingly, there was never any mention of a fee. As previous reviews suggest, the Market Street location seems to be the only branch charging made up fees to Regions account holders. I would give them negative stars if I could, but I'm forced to award the Market St. Regions branch with one puny little star that they don't even deserve.

HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. Customers should drop their Regions account and go somewhere else. DO NOT BANK WITH REGIONS at Market Street or anywhere else!!!! As a result of dirty customer service, I no longer accept my client's checks from this bank which charges payees 5% if you try to cash it. No other bank charges for cashing checks. Further, the teller, an older blond lady with glasses was extremely rude when I oh so politely questioned why they charge interest, then she refused to accept the check I was trying to cash. This happened to me two times. The teller lied to me and told me the checks were not good when my clients and another Regions bank told me the checks were really good. I tried resolving this with the manager of Regions at Market St, who never returned my call. When I tried to talk with him face to face to resolve the matter, they told me he was out to lunch. This occurred in September of 2012. I am a professional in the legal services in my 30s. I am from a family of bankers going back 110 years, who were taught to always treat customers fairly, kindly and with the utmost respect. You will find the antithesis at Regions Bank on Market Street in Chattanooga. Customers, do yourself a favor and find a new bank. Chattanoogans do not have to put up with such poor customer service

I have been a Regions customer for about a year, and am fairly convinced this is an example of licensed organized crime. The policies of Regions Bank are absolutely unconscionable by any reasonable standard, and this is my final week as a Regions customer. Avoid this bank, at all costs, if you have any desire to be treated humanely. The fee schedule and account manipulation are all designed to essentially rob you without remorse. It's as if the worst used car dealer on earth partnered with a title loan operator and decided to open a bank. I feel dirty walking into a Regions branch. Fortunately I won't have to any longer after this week.

This place has always had bad customer service and the only reason I use this location is because it's near my home. After today's actions and the machine taking my card and no one inside being able to give me a reason why and just assuming I'm not a Regions customer they will no longer get my service after almost 8 years. I had great service in the town I used to live in but this location sucks I would not recommend them to anyone.

Someone was recently handed my paycheck by mistake. He took it to the Regions and they DEPOSITED it without even glancing at the name on the check. Exactly the reason why i don't bank here
