  Great tour guide. Be sure to get there during the designated tour times since you can't join a tour in progress. Beautiful building with great architecture, but also a direct look into the dark side of plantation life and the way it continued to influence the south for years afterward.

  What a really cool and historic site! I really wish It didn't cost money to see the house but I really enjoyed walking along the grounds and seeing the 100 foot magnolia trees! I never knew they grew to be so big. Its so beautiful here! Its perfect for a romantic pic nic or nice family meal!

  We've done a lot of historic home tours, but I can honestly say this was the best yet. Elizabeth's knowledge on the history of the property, her research to make the history pertinent to modern day, and her involvement of the tour participants made for a truly enjoyable tour. The tour was supposed to be an hour long but we ran over considerably, and none of us noticed. I'd go again tomorrow if I could!

  We visited Radcliffe Plantation Labor Day weekend and we were VERY impressed with the whole experience. The grounds are open to the public and free to roam and a guided tour can be purchased for just $7.50 a person (children under 5 are free). Our tour guide Jordan was super knowledgeable and had an answer for every question that was asked. I wasn't sure what to expect before we came but we were pleasantly surprised with the whole experience!

  The tour guide was very knowledgeable and kept the hour-long tour interesting. Lots of old documents tell the sad story of enslavement on this plantation. Let's study history and learn from the past. All people are created in the image of God and no one should be mistreated and dehumanized as James Hammond treated his slaves on his four plantations. Even the younger children in our group enjoyed this tour and the beautiful grounds with 80-year-old trees and blooming camellias.

  Redcliffe Plantation is located in Beech Island, SC. Its sits on almost 400 acres of land, its one of the smaller ones in the area. I will be doing more research so I can visit the other plantations in the area. make sure you go inside the visitor center first even if you don't do a tour, clean bathrooms, alot reading information and a gift shop. The park rangers will give you some tips on how to spend your time. This place is a beautiful architectural beauty with alot of history. The grounds are well kept, clean, and has alot of space to spend the entire day if you desire. All the knowledgeable historians/ park rangers do a fantastic job of explaining the past. There is no charge to roam the park, the tours are a small fee. I volunteer with HC so I was attending a mthly group trip. The the tour is indeed worth the money and time. They also do a rooftop tour that is only available twice a yr. I will be going back for that part of the tour this yr hopefully. There website has more info about tours and prices. Visiting historic houses and learning history is one of my favorite things to do yearly. I didn't get a chance to walk any of the trails, maybe next time. Lots of free parking. @glampedlife Pics: Yelp
