  When we relocated our business from Chicago to Portland, Maine in 1996, we were concerned we wouldn't be able to find a local accounting firm with the kind of big-city wherewithal which we were accustomed to receive. That concern unfortunately proved to be true. So in 2000, when we were frustrated to a point where we needed to find one more CPA company, we were introduced to Purdy Powers. From Day One with our new accounting partner, our outlook regarding that genre changed. We experienced what "personalized service" really means. Co-owner Marc Powers has continually been our go-to-guy, now for more than a decade, even though his business has continually grown while we've had to downsize. Marc and his people don't just file taxes for us and pontificate about what must be done to deal with today's ever-changing tax laws and demands. They totally watch out for us. On a number of occasions during our first few years with Purdy Powers, Marc found that our previous accounting firm did not arrange for us to get tax returns which we deserved. Via his team's diligent efforts, we were able to request and quickly receive sizable federal and state returns from previous years' filings. I could say more about our accounting firm, but rather, simply suggest that if you are looking for a proactive team of professional accounting/tax experts who work hard to protect your firm's best interests, look no farther than Purdy Powers. I believe you'll be very pleased with their overall approach… and even more, with the positive results you'll experience by working with Marc's team.

  Not professional at all. These people can not return calls, and do not have any staff actually in the office working or available ever.
